i knew it was too good to be true!
and yes.. smartwatch 2 isn't scheduled for release until end of this month. i think handtec even stated on their promotion that it would ship separately.
i also agree that comment could be interpreted as racist, though i don't believe it had any intention as such. and this is coming from an Asian with big hands

I have ordered mine via O2 in the UK and I have conformation my white Xperia Z1 and free QX10 Smart Lens will be available for collection at my local store this Friday.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

Bad news for those who are ordering from UK, more so for Clove & Handtec, the white Z1 is being delayed to 9/23.

Also, do not be surprised if your SmartWatch 2, if that's your free gift, does not come along with your Z1. It's actually going to arrive later, around the end of this month.

That is probably why it could look thicker than it usually does.
That'sr comment. That comment is a bit inappropriate regardless of your intention because it sounds very racist. Could've word it better, maybe along the line of, "That's a small hand holding the phone".

That's actually great news. It shows that there's demand for the Xperia Z1.
Speaking about Asians, I'm one and seriously doubt my hands are small.

^you mean ZU v. Z1 v. Z
also, i am really starting to dislike these dark room screen tests. They're ok to show off a full color photo or something but when you're showing anything with dark backgrounds at an angle, the backlight bleeding is evident. I, personally, do not believe this is a characteristic of a bad screen. The brightness level simply needs to be adjusted to make the blacks appear more black. Just like any screen requires some bit of basic calibration for optimal viewing. It's no different than going outside and needing to turn your brightness up to 100% so you can see the screen. In a pitch dark room, the brightness needs to be turned down. I can't read chinese, so i don't know if they say what brightness the setting was at or if it was auto. Regardless, in a pitch dark room, since LCD screens use a backlight, a black photo will never appear completely black due to backlight bleeding. take that same brightness level and go into a normal lit room and the black areas will look very black. even at an angle (i tested this myself with my XS)
Also, the comparison with the S4 in this dark environment further puts the LCD screen of the Z series at a disadvantage. Obviously, the dark border around the color mosaic will show backlight bleeding, thus washing out the colors a bit from the angled perspective. The S4's AMOLED screen requires no backlight, and therefore has no backlight bleeding.
It kind of frustrates me to see these types of tests because they are implying that Z series has poor quality screens, when that is not true.

Did you order online? I did but all my order says is 'in progress'. As far as I know it will be delivered on Friday. Did you request to collect? How did you get confirmation? E-mail? Text?
Sorry for all the questions. I travel to the states on Saturday and want this before I go! |

yes, had purple Z and white XZU and I like the black contrasted with the alloy frame - that just sold it for me, I think that looks really cool and premium, the White XZU looked really good too and so did the Z in purple but that black overall finish is simply astounding - I have also ordered the Monza Red bookcase cover from Clove |

Saw the first z1 dummy here in Munich and I have to admit, Im much more impressed than I thought I would be. For me it was the best "feeling" handset that I ever had in my hands. So although on pics the z1 looks like the z, in reality it has just those little changes to the z design that makes the z1 so much more beautiful!
Luckily I tried the ultra first, so that it didnt even appear very big!
