Not sure why some people here resent me, when I do sometimes post good posts every once in a long while - but that's just them being silly
I kind of get the impression that over the past 6 months or so that Sony has joined the top tier of devices. People that are non-Sony fans or other people, that sometimes I would refer to as 'non-technical' people, are even aware of Sony now thanks to the Xperia Z joining the likes of the (dare I say it) iPhone range, the top tier HTC range, the top tier Nokia-Windows Phone camera-orientated range and the Samsung Galaxy Sx range. Is Sony aiming to surpass some of these with the Honami and to become top of this top tier range? Is this manageable for Sony with the Honami?
Check this for the latest on the upcoming Sony phones for 2013: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AreyfktYnDHtdHN0bVFPdUFJd0ZiNzZQcjMwV1I5M0E#gid=0 |

Sorry to come back to the Honami anouncement
Following on the idea of possible accessories, do the Sony Ericson fans here know if SE ever released a shutter grip for phones?
I found this on google for iphone, it looks cheap, and the guy on the picture does not even use the grip to take the pic...

I hope Sony would create one, as when you want to use it with the addon lens as a real camera for travel/sightseeing, it would be convenient and increase battery life. However i hope it would look less geeky and that it can actually fit the hand.
Any thoughts?

Sony made $4 billion with 9.6 million units while LG made $3.1 billion with 12.1 million.
In Q4 2011 average selling price for Xperia smartphones was $160, this Q it's $400. The TV division is also returning profit after 12 quarters.

In the picture that shows the G Lens branding has anyone else noticed the "G" which stands for Gold Standard isn't gold in colour. I know this is only a prototype/ pre production model which May not represent the final product it would be great to see uniform branding.

^i didn't edit fast enough. i was thinking of the alpha logo.
but the link you posted doesn't show a gold G.. it looks white/silver to me.
EDIT AGAIN!: ok, i just noticed it on the lens itself. but it seems it can also be white/silver too.

So, there is rumours for a new Tablet Z for IFA. I assume it is going to be released not after start of October, as the latest info says Honami won't... Considering both will be shown at the same time, both should also release together...
Now I ask: Is there any info Sony Stores (at least website) ones from US (don't mention other places, please), will have any of these devices at that time (end of September, start of October)?
@Ambroos , could you please check that for me?
I keep saying that, but will explain once again: I'm going to the US in September 30th, and will get there October 1st... In October 13th, I'm leaving to NY from Dallas and will stay in a hotel there until October 17th, but during this time, I won't be able to go to any stores pick it up or get the risk to order it and don't receive it until that day. I was going to buy the actual Tablet Z, but rumours are saying the new one is much better, and made me worried if it will be available in time for me, as I cant export it to Brazil (too many high taxes). I really want the new one, so it needs to last at least 2 years in terms of hardware and software updates...
I don't get people. Never Have, never will. |

Motorola's Moto X camera sensor is made by Omnivision, a 1/2.6 inch sensor with RGBC (red-green-blue-clear) coding, 16:9 native aspect ratio and 1.4um pixel size.

I just remember Sony's Exmor RS sensors should be made in RGBW (red-green-blue-white) coding like that, but still I'm looking forward for a new Exmor sensors for mobile made by Sony.
Why not? Maybe for Honami, it will be topped also with RGBW. |
