No true? Really? So the quotes lie?
Well, this is my first visit in this forum since quite a lot of time and the first thing I see is this misconfusion which phone is which... And I can see it with my eyes - all the current Sony phones are 95+% identical - how can you not confuse them? Your words are absolutely nonsense. I don't even want to image what's happening here the rest of the time...

@mediar: how can you expect a normal consummer to know all the product mix of a big company??
did we say that the phones are identical? No, I said the zl is unpopular not identical, Lunion even saw the differences with the front camera
Can a person identify all the Lumia range of Nokia or the smartphone offerings from SS?

9.6 billion is a good figure indeed. LG sold 12 million smartphones yes but unlike Sony, they are not a 100% Android company. They make some non android smartphones which account for about 20% of their total smartphone sales. So LG's total Android sales would be around the same as Sony. Same goes for Lenovo, ZTE, Huawei, HTC etc. |

They have generated 367 million in op profit and Mobile devision is in black for the first time since the Sony-Ericsson time. I think this Q's results will push the stock higher. |

I get it - they get the Z for example ( or any other phone, doesn't matter ), change the position of the front cam and the form of the speaker and here we have it - new phone with brand new and really distinctive design! Great! Come on! Stop lying yourselfes and face it - they are way too identical! I want to see the diversity we had since the first day of till 2011! I WANT IT BACK! That was the main reason I liked back then, but I don't see it anymore in Sony!
I'm not saying Samsung Galaxy or the new Lumias are any better, actually the situatuon there is absolutely identical, but I though we want Sony to be different, right? So releasing 30+ identical twins with boring black angular design doesn't help at all...

Samsung's ugly pebble design across the whole board of phone worked. Apple you-dont-say iPhone design didn't change. Nokia's angular with cheap colourful back worked. HTC's ever changing design gave them this.

@mediar: I understand your frustration, but the current industry situation won't allow them to do it
They need to have a key physical point to increase the customer awareness about their phones, thats why they are trying to imply similar design language for their prdoucts offerings.
the main goal is when the customers go outsite and see the metal button they might reconise it as a Sony phone
Im not trying to argue with you, k you just need to calm down and wait, there is no reason for you to overreact in here

^Xperia ZL
the unpopular brother of XZ
which is it?
I have heard so many people talk about the bezel size of sony (in a complaining kinda way) that they are too large.
Yet Surely ZL is the one from Sony's offering with the least (biggest screen to size ratio).
Now, if ZL is unpopular ( Hold your horses... I am not here to debate popularity of ZL) yet it had the smallest bezel, is it that there are too many trolls bashing sony? Or is there another factor?
IS it the fact that it is not waterproof such a popularity killer?
I need to buy my wife a phone, so that I can justify myself buying a phone fairly soon , and so that she wont complain about fairness...and I was thinking about ZL because they have come down in price recently. |

^the main problem with the zl is that it was release at the same time with its brother, XZ
And ppl were getting hype about the waterproof XZ rather than the ZL, that is why I said the zl is unpopular..... My mistake, sry
should say that it is unpopular compare to the XZ |

I would say 9.6 BILLION is AMAZING!!
20% of 12 million smartphones equals 2.4 millions, which means LG sold 9.6 million Android smartphones... same as Sony... that's if the 20% is 100% accurate as I believe it's just an estimation
Anyway, 9.6 million is good indeed and Sony actually did a good job in the Mobile sector along with some other sectors they did better than last year... not all sectors but some major and important sectors...
Me and most of us waned more, but it's already hard for Sony to do so in just 1 year with their limited budget... so they did a wonderful job of increasing all these sectors and selling all these devices while they have this financial situation...
Kaz is in the right way for sure, he just needs more time...
In Kaz we trust

Its a little bit late but .....Congratz Sony
I have to say they made a big improvement this quarter since the last quarter report also included the sales of their building as well to cover the losses, but this quarter they are actually making profit
Congratz Mr Kaz

This is a rumours thread. Why everything around Sony should be discussed here, when there are specific threads for different subjects? |
