Nah mate, not at all for that money here. The value of the engine, forks, tyres, rims etc alone would come to that. 
Yeah, I'm currently the only SA citizen on this thread who now resides in the UK.
There were 2 others from SA who live in the UK, but (unfortunately) they literally only posted a couple of times in this thread: kwiksta and Uncle Bob, if memory serves me correctly..

@pop - Yeah, but what I menat was . . . are the components of that vintage-bike you just bought will be operational (run) in a looonger period of time  also, are the spare-parts will come (be bought) readily available at your end
By the way, are the BIKES like that - branded or do they come UNbranded and with charger  - joke mate . . .
Have you heard of the Indian Bike? They are so famous in the 40's and 50's during the 2nd Worl War . . . they say that the Indian Bikes became so famous before Harley Davidson did 'Have any idea on this?

Yeah, I guess some of the parts will be on their way out, like side covers, clocks etc but things like the filters, spark plugs, tyres etc won't be a problem for many years to come as they are made by numerous after-market companies.
Being a 'rat bike', I could try and make anything 'adapt' and work if the genuine/original parts are hard to come by...
As regards Indian bikes, yeah they were also mainly V-twins, but not exclusively. What I liked about them was their distinctive flaired mudguards/fenders and swoopy lines, which reflected the automotive styling of that era so well, far better than Harley Davidson did back then IMHO. There has been numerous attempts to ressurect the brand again, but AFAIK nothing has materialised as a definite mass production revival of the Indian brand.
A pity; Harley could do with some more competition, particulalry in the States.

Umm, yes I did mate; 3 taken with the P1i on the previous page above those 'fast erection push' ones.
About no one daring to copy those styling cues, well would you believe that Kawasaki of all manufacturers did exactly that with some of their cruiser range a few years ago, on their 'Drifter' 800 and 1500 models (google them):

@pop - Oh yeah . . . but you can RARELY see bike models who have tire-covers (flairing) like that - right
I guess that will be very ideal to be used by politicians or by the who's-who in TOWN  as the tire-flairing will save them from would-be assassins though should be made - bullet proof

Yup, they are kinda rare.
About my Kawa, I haven't ridden it much lately, not helped by the Winter weather here. I'll be more inclined to ride the rat bike until Spring, then put some sreious miles on The Green One when the weather's much more biker(and bike)-friendly.
