Question 7: Recently a number of mobile phone brands in the camera part of the function, have joined the main camera OIS anti-shake function or dual lens design, or camera interface can choose to shoot RAW files, but these features are still not available Sony, What are the considerations for not adding these features to Sony phones?
And in view of the needs of the OIS and the camera's own ability, we can pull the ISO's ability to replace the optical anti-shake function, at this stage Xperia mobile phone with MotionEye camera function has been able to provide good photo quality, so I think at this stage will not want to be in the camera to join the OIS function.

Well with the XZ1 it looks like Sony has fully realized the loop design that was included back in the 2014 leak:

I wonder if any of those other designs might still see the light of day or if we'll get something completely different next year.
Considering those leaks are from the December 2014 hack I admit it's a bit disappointing that only this year we're finally seeing some of those designs. I should hope Sony would be faster to react from initial design to final product going forward. Releasing phones with a design created 2.5-3 years ago is a bit lazy IMO.

No XZ2 next year, new names and new design?
I remember somebody on this forum saying that they had insider info that next year's phones would have new names....

So, if the rumours are true and we are in for a complete design change for 2018 hardware, I guess this year's hardware might look pretty dated by comparison, especially if Sony releases another Premium device for MWC2018. Will Sony sacrifice front-facing speakers for slim bezels and the 'tall' screen trend?

I do not think the front speakers will be dropped.
Entertainment is the main business of Sony.
They know how great experience front speakers provide.
Many HTC fans miss the time their phones had front speakers and also the jack for example.
I'd love to see Acoustic Surface, but I have no idea if it is possible.
I mean for calls.
The fact OLED is thinner than LCD may help a lot.
I think rear cam shold be moved, placed where Samsung and Htc use theirs.
The sensors bar could be vertical, beside the cam.
I would not like to see tiny like G6 or S8.
But if they can remove 4mm from each is more than enough to me.
My concerns about OLED are :
- Burn in.
- Warm / punchy colors
IMHO if with a LCD, Sony can reach 138% sRGB I expect with OLED something better than Samsung.
S8 has 142% sRGB, the best they could provide so far.
V30 does not seem to be as good as everyone was expecting.

I just hope new names (if the rumour is true) won't be like these in end days of SE, I mean Yendo, Zylo, Yari, Spiro, Naite etc... or "Performance"...
I know it is ust a name, but please Sony, name them properly.
My simple idea:
Sony Xperia Pro/Premium/Compact for flagships
Sony Xperia Lite/Play for low/mid-end (really hard to find smth original here)
The successors may have year added to their names (2018). |

The new naming scheme along with a new design is 100% correct for MWC2018. No idea what the names will be but one thing I do is that the design although different will still be recognisable as a Sony smartphone.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

Yes, it's a good idea to choose names that people can relate to.

Well, all of the leaked designs were real so far, it's Y design that comes next and I am sure Sony didn't give a f**k because it leaked and they will make it like that. But we will see. Sony needs to change their old boring design. |

Just tell me two things.
1. If the top and bottom bazels are going to shrink?
2. If there will be a new sensor?
