the k850i can shoot VGA video @ 30fps no problems at all. They were testing it in the labs along with the t650i, yes the t650 also shot vga video @30fps with out any issues. almost. just took up a lot of memory, as we all know vga video does this, and sucked battery life fast.... at least we know its capable of shooting vga.
according too some, not naming any names, reason why phones cant shoot good video is due to not having good graphics chips..... right..... |

I'm reading those posts in here... and it seems to me that you people are discussing about digital camera. But I think that K850 is a mobile phone..
Sony Ericsson certainly wants you to think of the K850i as more than just a phone. From this page:

Me too.
Its more than just a 5mp lens, there are loads of other stuff with which you can compare it to a dedicated digicam.

But for me the most interesting section is "Specifications"
Especially this part:
Networks
GSM 850
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 1900
HSDPA
UMTS 850
UMTS 1900
UMTS 2100
Hmmm!! I just discovered that there is no "EDGE" anymore on the list!! But it was there before!
Can anybody comment? Will it be released without EDGE? |

Just got answer from SE information service: they can't tell what are the final specifications for this model. So I guess, it will have not EDGE |

There are also quite a few Edge networks in Europe. The more options the better.
I contacted t-mobile regarding HSDPA and received this reply (the spelling could be better ):
"Hello,
Thanks for your email enquiring about HSDPA speeds on web'n'walk and its cost.
I can understand how important it is for you to know about the service which you're planing to take. I appricate you wrote to me seeking clarification.
T-Mobile currently support HSDPA speeds of up to 1.8 Mbps (Megabytes per second). HSDPA has been provisioned automatically for all new web'n'walk customers and all new Flext customers.
Its my pleasure to inform that this service will be added to your account at no extra cost."
Great stuff! Wasn't HSDPA only available in the UK on a special tariff previously?

As far as I know, "Mbps" is mega bit per second, and MBps is mega byte per second |
