hi,
i am a doctor and used my p910i a lot and one day it was stolen and i am using a basic phone till i get hold of a smart phone.
some points about p910 that i dint like was its key board whic i damaged twice when i carried it in my pant pocket.
other than this there i faced no other problem... at times i loved to have some programs in it which i had seen in s60 ..... but could never find it... another problem was the absence of alaram function in the switched off mode....
in ability to record calls...

the best thing about this handset was its stability.... i could open umpteen number of programs and no trouble....

this is what i fear in p990....will they correct the problems mentioned above...
there are stories that the operating system is not stable....

and ofcourse we will have to wait for sometime till all the programs are released....

the cost will definetly be high and the programs might cost more...

I am getting more and more sceptical about the P990, a mate of mine got the Nokia N80 yesterday and whilst I like touch screen I have to admit that is one nice device, going back to a favourite moan of mine the N80 feels very well made not a single flimsy item on it and they used metal in its construction!!!! Nokia are taking note of what their customers are telling them about high value devices I sincerly hope will be doing the same so these things cost a fortune make them look feel like they do!!!!!!!!!!

@Nitro Fan and (zendilar)

you've not seen or touched a production quality device. If you don't like the specs or the proto, don't buy P990. More for us to buy!

OMG, I can't believe someone can "read between the lines" to the fact that he can turn SE's smart way of allowing WiFi to be turned ON EVEN on FLIGHT MODE to become SE's WiFi ONLY ALLOWED TO BE TURNED ON WHEN 3G/GSM IS OFF...

@ jjjimmy, you'd better go for proper English lessons
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
WiFi is only turned on FLIGHT mode which means GSM/3G off

Adnhk1 leave the english to yourself @@

@jjjimmy,

quote from mobile-review review of the P990

"Connections manager. One of the features of UIQ 3.0 is that several connections with various network services can be started simultaneously on the device (for example, one connection for loading mail through the Internet account and another connection for sending or receiving MMS-messages). This option is called multi-homing. GSM data call (CSD), GSM High Speed data call (HSCSD), Packet data (GPRS), Bluetooth or WLAN (feature P990) can act as a transport for connections. "

What do you understand by this (also read the review at: http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]onyericsson-p990part3-en.shtml )

I don't mean to force everyone back into a discussion of release date, but...

I just noticed on the SE Eshop website that the W950 now has a release date of October instead of August. I guess this means that SE are keeping that page up to date, and it still states a June release for the P990.

@jjjimmy

well - I check Bangeboys site, read 17 pages of review! And I think YOU may be right that the P990 switches to Flight Mode in oder to use WiFi! I did not get this impression from the www.mobile-review review. We'll have to wait until we get a production version reviewed before we know but I suspect you may be right.

but still it's not an official site and they may not have any new info on p990 which SE might be keeping secret as for now?
