Last night I met a graphic artist working on a web module for the i1's new section of the Sony website. They said Z and i1 are very similar in design just i1 is a bit taller and the sides feel a bit more comfortable.
They also said, that in their opinion, Z Ultra is the more attractive option.
I'm going to see if I can try to get some graphics of the device out of them.
Great leak! IMO, he probably won't give you official material but he can sketch you a i1 mockup in photoshop that is based on real material.
Also, did he just confirmed i1 as the official name or what? |

hey that pullout FCC sticker is neat. I like that. I don't really MIND having the FCC bullshit on the back, but having it in the inside is definitely welcome.
@rickyD .. if you can get more info, that'd be great!!!
makes me wonder why they're saying Z Ultra is more attractive? design wise? or overall features?

I had a conversation with a sony people at MAE. He told me that Homani is very similar to XZ but the camera wouldbe powerful. At that time I had higher expectation so I didnt believe him. Today, it seems what he said isture. |

@Ambivalent_ i1 is the name they use in communication with Sony and in their offices. I'd guess that this is not the release name.
@moogoo The impression I got was that Z Ultra was the one they'd buy for their next phone. So overall package is more attractive than i1. But, in China, bigger is better, and to an artist, use of a pencil is a major swing factor.
I didn't want to try to pull out too many details as I'd just met the person and didn't want to seem rude.
I'l try and build a bit of trust and get more info.

Those unsightly FCC labels on the back spoil it imo. But the pull out tab isn't new. The T, with a non-removable back has it also, together with the sim/microsd compartment.

Just for information, here you have the direct link to the FCC, the most interesting part is the last pdf (BT Test Report).

I suppose it's POSSIBLE the dock could be there, but isn't visible in the pics. Compared to the Z Ultra pics tho, I think we should be able to see it.
So... speculation?
Hm, possible, because as far as I remember, there has not been any leak/picture of the left side of the phone.
But I think these were not the final, ready to sell, Honami model.
Ricky D could give us some insights maybe, I hope so.

I think it was rumored before that i1 would have stylus support or the same tech like Z Ultra's. Can you confirm this from them once you've had their trust? |

^Well it was already mentioned, by others and myself at page 985, but nobody provided a direct link until now.
As a short recap the FCC Bluetooth Test Report confirmed the magnetic charging connector. And not any of the picture leaks showed any sign of the magnetic charging connecor.
Other things were confirmed also, WLAN ac, MHL support, Li-Polymer Battery (superior to Li-Ion), FM radio. Nothing serious, but worth to be mentioned. (Galaxy S4 does not have FM radio for example )
And there is a simple drawing of the Honami, showing the function of the fcc pull-out label.

Li-Polymer Battery (superior to Li-Ion),
So Ramu was right about different battery on Honami. That's a great feature! |

How is it superior?
Here it says it's not |

Just read here that SE had been using Li-Po before for most of their phones. And someone said what I've heard before in Sony phones, that their battery works at maximum efficiency after a few charges.
Pros & Cons: Li-Po vs Li-ion

The article says that Li Po have inferior energy density but since Sony achieved 3000Mha that can't be said for Honami.
