just had a play with a friend's motorola k1.first thing i noticed when i held it was the built quality, heavy firm phone.quite a joy to look at too.it just feels right-expensive.i must say motorola makes one of the best looking phones.the problem started when i opened the phone, only to be disappointed by motorolas crappy UI.to make things worse,it was VODAflipinFONE!total turnoff...i must say,i'm loving the looks of the RAZR 2,currently my favourite best looking phone.if i could flash it with an SE UI,trust me,i would...

Wow, check what Nokia announced in Amsterdam today (Amssshhhterdam, yesh...toight like a toiger... LOL, sorry, too much Austin Powers: Goldmember ):

Care of GSMArena:

'Nokia managed to surprise everybody with their latest service called "Comes with music". Nokia users will be receiving a 1 year free subscription to the service which allows unlimited music downloads to your mobile phone and PC. When the year expires, you get to keep the music.

It's first of a kind service and has no competition. We are yet wondering where the trick is as it sounds too good to be true. It's not yet clear which Nokia handsets will receive the service for free.

Universal Music is the first partner of the Nokia service, more will follow later on. The music downloading fiesta will obviously begin somewhere in mid-2008.

The free access to music will undoubtedly create some pressure on Apple's iTunes Music Store. Universal Music pulled out of iTunes earlier this year.'

@all - I am deeply TOUCHED with the veeeery caring WORDS and comments that you said about ME They say that YOU just cannot PLEASE everyJUAN here and I just take that as it is . . . for THOSE of you who've BEEN with Esato for the past 3-4 years . . . knows me FULLY, yes, MOST of my POSTs were and ARE just comic-reliefs . . . I have NOThing MUCH against fatreg and his company here . . . but YES (again) we just CANnot IGNORE that FACTIONALISM very MUCH still EXIST here till this very DAY unfortunately, MOST of my old-bros were already GONE or have hibernated to Antarctica which is veeeeery FAR from Esato's homebase - Norway

I am have small talk via PM to one of the mods here . . . he advised me to STOP making remarks like those OPENLY . . . or my head will be CUT ('don't want to follow - axxxr's FATE, so I must adhere 100%, honestly I don't SEE anything WRONG with my act of asking for s pics . . . I do remember though that some MEMBERs posted with my request in the past in some of the threads - mostly: camera phone threads ) !

Esato has been and will always be my LIFE for the past 4 years and 2 months and still running . . . and I can say that I am ONE of those HANDFUL OLDIEs here who posts on a DAILY basis (minus the TIME that I was banned - illegally) . . .

I guess I just have to be more SERIOUS with my posts (which is very hard to do on my part . . .) from hereon . . .

Again, many thanks for those KIND words my South African-friends . . .

BRIX ANY IDEA YET ON WHAT THAT 'MTNZONE' THING IS? MY BOSS'S PHONE SAYS MTNZONE 65%.

@HOBBS: I'll be speculating but my guess is that it indicates your 3G signal strength for your particular cell. I was at Obs Fest on the weekend and got "70%", at my office it fluctuates between "65%" and "90%" but in Three Anchor Bay/Green Point I only get about "60%". Have to say MTN's data speeds are way faster than Vodacom.

Okay i have done some asking around about the MTNZone, and found the following from an MTN pre paid user...

"For those that dont know, MTN has introduced new discounts for MTN to MTN voice calls based on your location and time of day. Prepaid users only. So if your cell info display shows MTNZone 75% that means you will get 75% discount to another MTN phone number. Dial *135# for more info"

Anyone feel like checking it out and commenting (my mtn sim expired)

For MTN (ProCall120 package)

Nokia N95 (R 799.00 pay-in)
*R 309.00 pm x24
Once off cost:
SIM: R 135.00
Connection: R 99.00

Includes: itemised billing of R17,89 and CLI of R7.59
Extras: with 1GB memory

The new 8GB version

R 309.00 pm x24 (2199,00 pay-in)
Once off cost:
SIM: R 135.00
Connection: R 99.00

Includes: itemised billing of R17,89 and CLI of R7.59
Extras: with 8GB memory

Not bad price difference.Just the R1400 payin difference which is about the price of an 8GB memory card.So I say you getting that extra 64mb of RAM free.Nice One.

@ Hobbster,
Ya that was my concern too. Details are still a bit spartan at this stage though.
To use a common eBay adage: 'If it's too good to be true...'

Is falcon still bowled over by his newly acquired phone?
