GSMArena.com has posted a shootout here between K850i and the N95. It also includes photos from LG's new 5MP KU990. Good thing, as I can now scratch all these from my shopping list after seeing that they all suck the same amount.

@abubasim
the lg ku990 and k850 are protos. Wait until retail versions are reviewed to make your decision. its likely photo quality will 'hopefully' be better in retail phone.

lmao,so now u have one of two choices:either u get yourself a dedicated camera if you already dont have or you can settle for other camera phones,which are btw inferior than these 3 mobiles which are suppose to be the best in their market...which will it be.thought so:)

On the first page there is a studio shot of a beach motif. The EXIF data shows the shutter speed as 1/30 and ISO at 64, i.e. slow "film speed" and slow shutter. Still the photo shows a large amount of noise. The noise from the CMOS sensor can't be fixed in software. Some of it can be hidden through noise reduction but at the cost of photographic quality. If SE is at all interested in this, they would need to equip the camera with a larger lens and a larger sensor.

Wrong! I already have a very good camera phone, the best on the market today (at least if you just consider the camera and forget the rest of the phone).

impressive^, think the difference will be big? maybe only in low illuminated rooms
edit: also, look at the beachpicture you used as an example (k850), if you resize it to a viewable resolution (let's say 1280x1024) you hardly notice any noise and the picture looks great

I think comparo overrated K850. It should lose more to N95. Look at K850 photos. All of them show pinkish tint. Photos also have purple fringing which is due to inferior quality of lens used (and cannot be fixed by software)

1280x1024 is 1.3MP. The point with a 5MP camera phone becomes lost if you have to scale down the photos to enjoy them.
I prefer a camera phone that produces photos that still look good even when printed on A3 high quality photo paper. (A3=420x297mm.)

I'm sure it will be confirmed soon enough, other improvements might appear before it finally starts shipping.

The guy PHI says so. I'm not responsible I'm just quoting him. No responsibility. The guy he talked said so, "Sony ericsson couldn't just look to the improvments that the other brands did. So they're upgrading." |

I'm reading those posts in here... and it seems to me that you people are discussing about digital camera. But I think that K850 is a mobile phone.. |

It would be a nice surprise if they did upgrade the video.
