siriosechi1 : Ya, it's 2.6.10.5

I choose English (United States) , not sure about that making a difference or not.

@baste07,

You wrote: they're saying that it;s taking a while before they put the update because they're having issues udpating the EROM using SEUS?

Which "they"are you talking about and how about posting your source? Did you get this from SE, and if so where?

Your statement regarding this is the first one that has been posted here as coming from "they" so naturally everyone would be interested to know where you got your info.

Thanks in advance.

Dude,

This is not new information. It was reported by me and a few others a few pages back. It is quite obvious that you and others do not bother to go back and read the pages already posted. With that you post old and sometimes out of date info simply because you do not take the time to re-read what was already written. If this is the case why bother to contribute?

Sapporo: In response to this statement,

"Surely you have to be kidding. I use my phone every day, as well as my M600i and do not come across the amount of bugs that you and others seem to manifest almost daily. Second, yes the devices are expensive and no they will never be perfect. Many of us realize this and accept this as being part of the purchasing experience. However, there are a select group here that make it their life's goal to complain without ceasing about their software not being perfect. The more complex a phone becomes, the more things can go wrong. The options are very simple: 1. Buy it. 2. Don't buy it."

People have different views and uses for their phone. Many play games on their phone, text, call, whatever. This amount of daily usage amounts to a lot of time. If you haven't encountered any bugs, or little to none, you may just be luckyl. The majority here on Esato has encountered many of the bugs pointed out here by other users of the K790/K800 series of phones.

As for your M600i, surely it is a much more complex device than the K series from its Symbian OS 9.1, if I am correct. The fact that you have not run into any problems either suggests the phone is quite stable, and should be, moreso than the K79/8 series. I assume you also use your phone heavily so this may be a fact.

My K790i here I leave on my desk for half the day and use just lightly on a daily basis. Yet I have encountered most of the bugs pointed out here. It is quite irritating as well.

Surely there are a ton of users who bitch around here 24/7. But see here, there are people new to the line of Sony Ericsson phones, especially their top of the line. If you've just changed from your monochrome screen Nokia to a Sony K790i, surely it's a huge jump. And those users who run into quirks WILL DEFINITELY come here to post and seek help. They probably won't bother to read the past pages as they are looking for a quick fix.

That's why us here, who have been on the firmware thread for quite a while, should help out users instead of half-flaming them with comments that they should look in the past pages. If you can already say that to them, why not just tell them the answer in short? Doesn't take much effort to. We also have been accustomed to SE's phones more than others, so we DO expect many bugs to come with their products (well, maybe) every time. So I understand why your tolerance for people who complain here is very low.

Edit: I don't know if this is a useless post, but I hope I've considered the views of both new users here and the regulars of this thread in regard to complaining about firmware.

@sapporobaby

I think you don't want to understand what people writing... Why? To f..ck with them?

He said, that as we've read there is a chance of WSOD without EROM update... Nobody said that it is not possible to update without EROM update, but not advised... So people thought that there will be a new update process or a new firmware which doesn't need the EROM update to functioning correctly... and now SE releases on SEUS wihout modification.. Strange...

I think you forget that for most people on earth English is a foreign language. As I.... We can't express ourselves so clearly and exactly and we do typos... So please be patient.... Look behind the words...

Thanks

@obentou

Nice post. Good stuff, and I agree with most of it, actually much of it. My biggest point is that many to most of these issues can be resolved by simply reading the entire thread. Before I posted once, I read the thread from start to finish so as to not burden anyone with my already answered questions. Second, rather than post something that might have been answered, I will PM someone that seem as though they know what is going on. This is called consideration. This is surely lacking here. Second, there are people here that complain, and complain, and go on and on about SE not doing this or not doing that as though SE is making this a personal affront. While some may not like my bringing them to task about their posts, others feel the same way as well. Mwarner has/had a great thread here but it quickly turned into a place to whine and moan and to bash SE because they have not done this or that. Hopefully Laffen will consider a paid forum where a more serious group can go to exchange info and the less so, can remain in the open public forum.

Finally my "tirades" are not directed at the new ones here who try to learn but at the ones here that sleep with their phones in their hands at night, while preparing for the next day bug hunting expedition.

@farkasg

If you will read my post you will see that I asked him to post his source. He made the statement about "they" (assuming he means SE) did this or that. I asked for a source behind his post. Was this wrong in asking? Why can't he provide the source if there is one?

I was not concerned about his english as this is not a matter. Actually his english is quite good. If you want to continue, please move it to PM rather than continue here.
