XJ
Xperia 1 = 1/2.6" + 1/3.4" + 1/3.4"
Xperia 1 II = 1/1.7" + 1/2.6" + 1/3.4"
This mean only one bigger sensor.
BONUS: look at page one, my wishlist ... Flagship with 4000mAh, 1/2.6" ultra wide and SD665 for X10 2020. 😏

Benchmark suggested that. |

A fourth device is fairly possible but it won't launch anytime soon.

Wonder if it'll make much difference in the real world and if they'll integrate a dedicated night mode this year too.

@XJ - i wonder if the sensors are sony or samsung. and i think quality will come down to software more than anything. looking forward to whatever gsmarena drops so we can get some information and quality hands on.

@moogoo I think with the naming scheme being the same as the camera department now would suggest the software has been improved. For many years the camera department didn't want anything to do with the mobile division but the collaboration seems to be closer now than ever before. If I'm correct the former head of the Alpha department is now in charge of mobile imaging so I'd no doubt he'll have strings he can pull to get what he wants for the latest flaggy.

X1 has one 1/2.6 and one 1/3.4"
Newer two.
So tecnically, just one change.
One was moved aside.
196 min for event.

Thanks for all your info. I do wonder if Sony will see fit to make a prestige device like the Premium models going forward. I know the 1 series basically does everything we had in previous Premiums, but there's always room to kick it up a notch
Also, I know it's 99.99999% not likely, but I'm hopeful that Sony Mobile will eventually do a cross collaboration with SIE to either make a proper PlayStation phone with physical controls for remote play and PS Now access, or at the very least a smaller DualShock controller that's easier to carry around to use with your phone. They mentioned such a smaller controller in a recent customer survey, so hopefully it's something that happens. |

IIRC he's in charge of all of Sony Mobile, not just their imaging segment. He worked wonders with making their cameras a force to be reckoned with and I'm hopeful he has similar goals for Mobile. The 1 mk.2 seems to be an amazing first step in that direction and I hope they keep it up.
I'm really hopeful they can see some growth so they'll expand back into markets they retreated from in the past. I miss having Xperias in Canada I could play with in stores. |

I want sony to invest a little bit on online advertising.. I mean see for Samsung.. Ice universe has such a strong following base and all he does is promote Samsung phones. If only Sony had something like that. |
