HILARIOUS... MahdiMTT actually made an account just to bitch at nodar...

Personally, I hope Sony stays LCD. OLEDs are nice and all, but there isn't a single mobile OLED out there that doesn't have some kind of blue or green tint at an angle, especially as the panel ages. Yes, even the samsung ones. The LG ones are even worse, as we saw with the pixel 2 XL issues. If sony goes OLED, they will be using LG panels based on recent news, which would mean we'd have Pixel2 XL type problems, potentially. I don't think sony can afford that kind of bad press especially if this is supposed to be "their year". Then again, they tend to say that every year.

yes the pixel did have a blue tint, but I feel LG knew this and has been slowly trying to fix it, saw a YT video where a person bought the first release of the pixel 2 and then one later manufactured after the blue tint info, and the newer device has less of a blue tint. The blue or green tint will be there since from what i've seen most oled panels have more green and blue subpixels.

That being said, oled tech is evolving all the time, and the panels we had say 3-4 years ago are not the panels we have today with regards to life span, burn in and colour reproduction.

Are both diagonals 5 inches? Cause it doesn't look that way to me.

OLED has its advantages but for me the XZ Premium LCD is the highest quality screen. I like Note 8 of course but 4K vs 2K, there is no contest. Samsungs can be adjusted if you don't like the fake vibrancy but a lot of people actually like that so let them be. Things like burn in are ultimatley down to quality of the panel, I've never heard any Samsung user complain about burn in while you see the Pixel 2 has a load of deficiencies. I have never seen anything that shows that OLED saves battery vs LCD in real world tests and it makes you wonder why people aren't able to squeeze much more out.

On a side note, I think the UI needs an overhaul because I find Oreo so inconsistent. I couldn't get a full black UI using Substratum so I now have a full white one which I'll accept because all my apps are similar. I hope an OLED Xperia would have a true black UI and I'd like some redesigning of menus etc. as some of the Substratum themes have little subtle changes that make the UI look so nice. Either make a change or allow for themers to change as much as possible.

OLED in early ramp up production maybe suffer with multiple issues
but as more as production line keep running, they usually iron out these kind of problems
which is maybe little hope for company like Sony, that can't stay in group of early adopters

Yes, UI is supposed to get redesign with more consistency approach, totally agree on this.

What do we all think of this render of the XZ Pro.
Personally I think it looks brilliant.

Waiting on Nodar to say it is "FAKE"

It will probably look very similar to that concept, but although it looks better the the other Xperias, it is still a bit borning. It just trimmed down bazels XZ Premium, not a new design. They should refresh it a bit more, back of the phone as well. It is boring seeing the same thing over and over again.

It's a really nice concept. Reminds me of elemental concept. I like the location of headphone jack and side FPS.
Does it remind you of something you have seen... XJ?

I like the look of sharp edge slab, but for the feeling in my palm and my pockets, I prefer rounded corner. And I don't think it look's iphonish because 1, the bezel are smaller and 2, the sides of device are not tangent with the front and back surface.

The concept design looks outdated. It's not boring at all but neither something special. If they go with that boxy design I would have preferred rounded corners around the display like the Nokia Lumia 925. A Lumia 925 with less bezel and a little Sony Xperia touch

Probably the person used Z5P as base.
I dont like tiny logo.

All concepts are 18:9. I doubt the phone will be.
Ppi would jump from 807 to almost 850.
