Hey vivftp,
It's depend. The distortion level of XZ Premium is unacceptable.
For you it's not a big deal. But for some people it is.
Also it not just me who dislike about this issues.
You can see how many people on xda can't accept the distortion of XZ Premium.

The distortion is a thing. Remember the Sony XZP camera should be THE CAMERA.
V30 Hardware is remarckable. To bad i dont like LG, but quad dac, ois, oled and so one is pretty impressive... |

Reviewers seem to be more excited about the Compact. Not hard to see why, it's been two years since we have had a proper Compact flagship.

Yeah dude, you're getting a wee bit too whiny about this distortion issue. It's not that big a deal.
Depends what kind of distortion we are talking about. Wide angle lenses will distort the image for sure but it won't look wobbly like in the photos on XB, so such an issue is not acceptable.

I seem to remember reading that the reason for them not being able to sell it with the FPS was coming to an end, towards the end of the year. Was it a contract that Sony had with one of the US carriers, preventing them?

FPS whole thing...
Some ppl say it is about patents.
Some ppl say it an old contract with a wireless carrier.
I believe second possibility. If I am not wrong many phones with rear FPS have it as power too.
Just curiosity... Why do Compacts always have the slot near bottom?
The bigger phones have it near top.

Sony getting huge positive response for the XZ1 Compact, many saying it's the star of the show. This is going to sell the most out of all Sony devices this year. |

Sorry, was maybe a wee bit harsh as I had woken up early to view the IFA event.
While it's an issue without a doubt, I don't think the vast majority of XZP users will ever notice it or care. I don't. If they fix it, great. I can appreciate that others may care about it more than I do, but I also feel the place to complain about it is in the XZ Premium thread and not the rumors thread. |
