Well, the subject in this link has indeed been tested/used in some places overseas. I have, so far, no personal experience with this IP service and the info won't be new to all of you, but I presume this is on its way to SA:

Looking forward to getting more info about this in SA closer to December 05 or early 2006...?

Few weeks ago i mentioned a South African company will be launching Instant Messaging and everyone was saying they cant get it for free subs but here are the differences.SA IM will be launched via Vodacom. Its an exclusive for a short period.3 months free subs there after you pay R10 a month.THE MAIN 2 DIFFERENCES ARE:You can send it to any mobile number, email address and to any IM service.Where as the ones you get for free is not licenced and is restricted to only those people who are registerd and you have RESTRICTIONS and you have no local support.Cost per IM is between 1-5 cents to any phone,pc.AGAIN I WILL SAY NO RESTRICTIONS........SA Instant will be launched soon.Watch this space.

Hi mrao, and welcome!
I'm picking up fragments of Gujerati, Panjabi, Bengali, Tamil and even your neighbouring country's Urdu where I work!
Not to mention developing a VERY strong liking for sweets and treats from the Asian sub-continent, like barfi, halva, laddoo, pakora, samosas, gulabjaman, etc. Forgive any spelling errors or mispronounciations!
It's great to see that the esato Indian and Asian sub-continent forums are so active and informative.
Would love to visit Mumbai sometime next year.
