I know that they upgraded the gamertag system for 360 to include more detailed profile information.
So maybe you can not use a 360 gamertag with an XBox, but you can use an original gamertag with a 360, if that makes sense 
I'm just guessing

I just got it working on HDTV but changed a setting on the blades and now back to square one :@
Get sound though.
