Agree with Ares and share the same positive attitude. And that positive attitude is just due to current satisfaction with a phone.
For tail, if you waited for such a long time you should wait till January IMO because once you get P990 that meets your need you will forget all of this hustle in a twinkling of an eye. Again if that doesn't happen you can easily sell it.

Yes, that's true. Who likes to lose money. I understand you mate.
Really strange where are so much differences among same phone coming from. Anyway I am more sure than ever that the end of this confusion is coming very fast. You should wait IMO that's all I want to say.

@tail.. Go to your local service center an let them flash it for you.. if you flash it at home it will lay the new os upon the old one.. and in the service center every part of the os gets deleted.. so if youre having a lot of trouble you should try this..
I do agree with Ares, my p990 works good.. have had 2 reboots and one kernel error since i bought it in early september..

got mine today, sim free from Expansys. Very happy with it so far, beautiful looking phone with good feel to it. Wondering should I upgrade firmware? it's : phone:cxc162037 r4b001, bt:cxc162058 r4f01, org: cxc162036 r2a04, cda :162036 r2a04
bit wary of flashing it on its first day! (it was made in France by the way)
i've installed Swiss Manager on it and thought I might leave it at that in the hope that a major upgrade will be released soon? I'd appreciate any adive.
haven't managed to connect wifi to my wireless router yet, read someplace that it can have problem with WPA security which I have set up. Anyway, happy days at the moment

@ macwilmore -- First of all, congratulations on your brand new P990! It's a great phone and more. My advice would be to go ahead and do the firmware upgrade now before adding all your personal information and settings into the phone. There is a newer firmware available (R3B01 Organizer), which has been quite stable from my experience. The next update doesn't look like it will come until January now, so I think you would benefit from the most current update. Hope this helps, and enjoy playing with your new toy!

@macwilmore
You should upadate to a new firmware. I even did a master reset after that. You will have a benefit, no doubt.
Maybe it's coincidence but my P990 is made in France and can't tell you how much satisfied I am with it.
Congratulation and enjoy your new beauty.

p.s. I have 64 bit WEP and MAC filtering enabled. It works like a charm.

just updated to latest fw, everything went according to plan! have encountered one problem since then , maybe due to something I am overlooking. When I try to reinstall Swiss Manager I get this error message:
"(8007000S) Access is denied" Haven't tried installing any other programmes yet.

I think so many difference is because of the difference of the phone version. I've got a chinesse enabled and it really work very slow even after updating last fw and hard reset. Right now i only get 10.9 MB after restarting with SMpro autoloaded. If u guys have 14MB have some problem maybe u can imagine with the difference of 3MB would be alot of difference to you. Maybe tail has same thing with mine. Is that true?

@ bytes -- Look under the battery at the sticker on the phone; it will say "Made In France." I think all P990s are made in France, just like the rest of the P-Series.
