Thanks Jmash.I agree.I think its a beautiful phone too.I wasnt a P-series user before so maybe thats the reason.I dont compare it to its predesessors.I also get some inspiration from Asrial (the UIQ3 Evangelist) who writes for AAS and has he's own blog. He's very passionate about UIQ3 and is very optimistic about its future.I love people that are passionate about something.

@ Hobbster,
As regards LinkBoy, did you download the free trial version (how long is the trial for?) or pay for the full version?
@ Jmash,
Ya, The Hobbster's far more up to speed with current UIQ3 trends than me at the moment. With that latest firmware, I was quite prepared to settle for a P990i myself.
The P1i is stable, has a very good 3.2mp cam (when in decent light conditions, but suffers from the dodgy green tint to the right when there's a white or yellow background in low-lit conditions) and is of course slimmer at 17mm.
BUT I do still miss the flip keypad like on all the earlier P-series phones. Having said that, I'm getting more used to the P1i's format n' functions.

Honestly,it's a pity MTN discontinued the P990,although VodaCom still has it,I would have gone for it.The w950 is still a good multimedei device.

Yep i agree, P990 is a beauty i like it with the flip-on though looks great.
@ Jmash
i think Vodacom discontinued the W950 but are still selling the M600. Id say wait a couple more weeks for the brand new W960.

i was hoping to catch some cricket actions 2moro but
The entire Centurion crowd stand to applaud Dale Steyn, the local boy. Great scenes. South Africa sweep New Zealand with a crushing defeat. Remember, New Zealand had not played a Test since December and things went from bad to worse after Jo'burg. Again, Steyn was the destroyer with another ten-wicket haul. The top order was feeble again and did not come up with any answer to Steyn's hostility. No partnerships to speak of bar two aggressive innings from Stephen Fleming. New Zealand lost Craig Cumming, who fractured his right cheek, which was a big blow.
South Africa's top order read the same sheet, with only Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla among the runs. Thats an issue they have to address later, after they enjoy the celebrations. Mark Gillespie, on debut, took five wickets to bring New Zealand back for a session or so before a frustrating ninth-wicket stand between Steyn and Andre Nel completely robbed the momentum back.
A clean sweep of the Test series, after winning in Pakistan. South Africa look cock-a-hoop. Victory by an innings and 59 runs.
Not hard to imagine that Steyn, for his ten wickets, including a career-best 6 for 49 just now, is the Man of the Match and Man of the Series. He finished with 20 wickets in just two Tests. What a moment for the young fast bowler.

Yeah I also read that synopsis on cricinfo.
What fantastic stats he's got in a relatively short time. You've got some serious competition brewing, Brett Lee et al... LOL.

@ Kyle
Virgin don't support 3G right now.
Im so tempted to port to MTN im so tired of Vodacom and their crap network in my area, with full 3G (phone in UMTS Only mode) when i browse the Web it keeps dropping the connection so i turn off 3G Only mode and use GSM/EDGE Only mode and with EDGE i get a great stable connection BUT it only finds EDGE in certain parts of the house so it sometimes stays on normal GPRS and that can be HORRIBLY slow. MTN on the other hand has Full 3G (very stable) and full EDGE all over my home. Atleast all the kids at Dainfern College who are on Vodacom can't MXit during school ours LMAO! : - D
