A peaceful and blessed Diwali to those of us who are celebrating the day
Right now i've been stuck in traffic for the past half-hour. An 18-wheeler and a bus seemed to have had a difference of opinion as regards the right of way about a kilometre up ahead...

Thanks Hobbster and gola.
@ JK and gola,
Ya, the white ones and earlier black ones are the MPS-60 speakers. These are MPS-70's. Apart from cosmetic changes and slanted speaker cases and that they also act as an antenna for the FM radio, I'm not sure if there's any other differences..

Since you guys are speaking of the sony speakers, what do they cost?
I have a computer cable, and with the help of the 3.5mm extention of the sony headset i frequently listen to my music saved on the phone on my sound system, teh other day my mother phoned while i was listening to my tunes, now imagine your mothers voice at full volume over your surround sound....

@ Rhino,
The retail price of those little speakers is around £25 (approx R350) here, but they can be found for a lot less than that on various sites. The MPS-70 ones I bought brand new from esato member PeterKay only cost me £10, which also included delivery. (approx R140).
About the 3.5mm jack coupled to the sound system, LOL I can just imagine the scenario when getting a call like that.
I've got a long USB 'repeater cable' running from the PC to the receiver in the lounge to listen to music, although I've also got a smaller 3.1 speaker set-up in another port in case the better half wants to watch a programme or movie through Dolby Digital.

An article on MyBroadband stated the following:
Apple’s popular iPhone will not be coming to South Africa says local Apple distributor.
According to an article in Sake24, Core Executive Head RJ van Spaandonk, the sole distributor of Apple products in South Africa, said that Apple Head Office decided that the popular iPhone will not be launched locally.
“This is a decision from the USA and outside of our control,” van Spaandonk is quoted as saying.
The iPhone made headlines earlier this year when it was launched in the US, selling more than a million units in the first three months.
The device’s innovative touch screen technology and media capabilities made it an instant hit among many gadget enthusiasts, but the fact that it is network locked did not go down well with some segments of the market.
It did not take long for hackers to ‘break’ the iPhone, allowing it to be used on other networks, but Van Spaandonk warns that Core Group will not be able to support any imported iPhones locally.
