Another problem with Dell is that they use custom parts, and these parts are a lot more expensive than standard PC parts.
For example, the cooling fan costs around £40 (£3 for a normal one) and you can't use ordinary memory. It has to be 'Dell' memory which costs twice as much as normal memory!
And I agree with DJ about their regular f**k-ups. we've lost three good customers in the past because dell have lost orders for parts or, in one case, they took THREE MONTHS to deliver a stick of memory. The customer had (quite rightly) long given up and we were stuck with a very expensive stick of memory that nobody wanted!
