Does anyone here use the synchroniztion option?

I believe this should work just as it would in a PDA.

If anyone is using it, please let me know of how it is working for you.

What type cable do you use? I need to satrt using this feature since I got rid of my PDA.

Thanks

i use the sync thing.
Not great, but does allow you to make recurrent appointments!

whats with the lack of the auto silent mode thing that the t610 had?

Has anybody contacted sony and said that they would like to help them improve their phones?
cos i really like sony (mostly cos of the screen and graphics)......if they could fix a few things we would have a good phone!

@Reo

The Synchronization option is used for OTA syncing with an SyncML server. There are services that you can subscribe to for a fee. Some operators my offer this service, but generally they are not free. Second, you can use the built in syncing functionality of the phone with the included software that comes in the box. If you are looking for basic PDA functions, then this is quite adequate.

Things that bug me about s700i after 4 days:

1. camera shutter sound! I know this has been done to death here but I really do think it's rather silly. I'll be trying to get hold of that alternate customisation file in order to mute it.
2. no character count when composing text message. Now this is just ridiculous! So ridiculous that I'm still not sure it's really true.
3. opening the shutter doesn't unlock the phone. Seems a pretty obvious thing to implement.
4. space is in the wrong place! (spot the ex nokia user
5. no support for memory stick pro. while it's not a problem for normal use, if i could put a 1GB card in there i wouldn't need an MP3 player!

I think there was something else but I can't remember what it was.

Anyway having said all that I still think it's a fantastic phone though it's only my second ever mobile so i'm no expert.

1. Yes, this has been beat to death. Let's move on here.
2. It does perform some kind of character summation, or it might be giving the t9 word choices. Not sure.
3. If you have auto-lock disabled, and then push the shutter release, the camera will start.
4. Do we really need to cover this point?
5. Yes and no, but this is known when you purchased the phone. If you are in a Vodafone market, you should have maybe purchased the v800. It can handle the MS Duo Pro, and I have one as well as the s700i, but for music I use an iPod. While the s700i and v800 play music, I would rather hear it through a good pair of earbuds as opposed to the cheap ones that come with the phone.

@Tamlyn.

Regarding your little gripe about the text character count. The phone alerts you when you are down to the last 20 characters.

If you chose the maximum text option in the text settings menu, the phone it will automatically use another text to allow you to keep tapping the text out so theoretically, you can send a text of unlimited character length.

(hope that made sense, I feel a bit groggy this morning)
