so guys, why do you think sony use "I" for mid-range models but "J" for flagship?
As far as i remember this never happened before.
Is it possible J8/J9Xx won't be available until next year? |

The new XA3 CAD is partly conformed by Onleak. At least the very little bottom bazel part.
I am a bazel guy. I prefer bazel than whatever other option. However, I don't like the Sharp Crystal as the edge design make me feel sick.

Give me a slightly chunky bezel over a notch or a hole punch any day of the week. Imagine watching a moving on the S10+ with that dual hole punch camera? It'll look awful, it'll look like you've got a shit load of dead pixels on your screen which would annoy the hell out of me and probably many others too. I credit Sony for what they're doing as unlike these Chinese clones that keep popping up Sony are thinking outside the box and using there knowledge to make a better viewing experience without compromise.

Don't forget that a phone's antennae have to go somewhere - top bezel allows for great cellular/wifi/bluetooth connectivity, been told from guys in the business that when network engineers want to run tests they always ask for Sony handsets as they give the best connection - and I personally don't like notches and hole punches intruding in my screen anyway |

An acceptable bezel size is needed, not the curved screen zero bezel teardrop notch stuff, it's fine if you have stereo front speakers. XZ4 with cinema screen but no front speakers wouldn't be a proper cinema experience. Regarding XA3, a symmetrical front would make it look great even if there are noticeable bezels. Considering that the XA3 is ultra tall, surely the Compact will have the same screen ratio? High and mid with tall screen but not the Compact doesn't make sense to me. Surely the Premium will have it too in OLED. |

Considering the leak from the system files, I expect this design to show itself on the high end too. They wouldn't use midrange icons to describe things in their software.
Taking the second speaker to the bottom of the device is a good move imo. Bottom plus top front, still stereo, doubt anyone will complain much while it allows for less bezels for the mass market's sake.
I think they used http://www.xperiablog.net/201[....]-we-see-it-in-a-future-xperia/ this tech for the xa3. When you put a speaker and a cam on top of the display driver you'd get the bezel shown on the renders. |

Can someone calculate the height and width of this phone from the pictures? I don't know how to do it.. Why do I feel like this is the new midrange compact.. Roland tweeted this morning something like, Japan this is for you.. I mean there was always talks about the compact being limited to few areas.. So this might be the compact.. Or Roland might be implying something else.. But then why did he specifically mention Japan and not use the word too? Is the earlier XA models available in Japan??? |
