dont forget all uaproofs have 16:9 screens...

5 inch device should be new compact with full hd screen, even if it's a little longer(6mm) then xz1 compact , diagonal width is just 2mm bigger because of new design probably

The top bezel is much shorter than the bottom one.

Now seeing that the colour is blue, I think that is XZ1s but the screen looks too big for an XZ1 refresh.

The benchmark I saw last week.

This phone from this morning has 4mm less than XA 2016 ( the width).
XA is 5" 16:9 also edge to edge.
I dont see how it can be 5" 16:9 too, but narrower than XA.

If FCC documents are true then no way it can be 16:9..
XA has edge to edge screen still 66.8 mm width...XA1 is 67 mm
Then how can upcoming 5" device will be 16:9??
Definitely it's 18:9..Same goes for 5.7" device..
On the other side uaproof shows 16:9..A geekbrnch result shows 16:9..
Things become confusing now..
Either it 18:9 or FCC dimensions are wrong!!

Maybe the dimension isn't fully correct because of the curved profile of the design of the pro model.

Just like @blackzeros says all UAPROF files show 16:9 screen.
H81xx : 4k
H82xx: 1920 x 1080
H83xx: 1920 x 1080

And a browser benchmark of H84xx ( we dont know yet if it is real) showed HD 16:9

The curious thing is that if you look for H81xx and H82xx it is all gone.

What if dual edge like Samsung?
Note 5 is 7.61mm while Note 7 is 7.39mm.
JDI has ways to do it with LCD too.
Plastic instead of glass substrate.

This photo is fake.. I can't believe sony will use the same design with slightly trimmed top and bottom bezel..
Sony india manager hibi confrimed long ago that
"We have deployed an omnibalance design as long as the X series continues to be available in the market. Also, we are planning to launch new generation of products and you can expect a complete new design from the devices”.
Hopefully this is not the complete new design as sony says there will be no omnibalance!!
But if sony still ends up with this in MWC then nothing but big disappointment!! And finally I can say sony lost its track completely!! They even remove the 3.5mm jack..

So it's not true..
Definitely we will see something new from sony this MWC IMO..

After using Phone Finder (GSMArena) it seems XA is narrowest 5" phone ever made (66,8mm)

New one has 64,63mm so it is 2,17 less...

Difference between S6 and S6 edge is only 0,4mm.

What is width of 16:9 5" screen?

Would a phone become narrower if frames are flat like Z2/Z5?

Come on ADIDA, upload those spy shots that you've kept hidden for the last month. How about a render next to the silhouette of a couple of Xperias like the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact? That would be the most useful thing.

If real and showing the design of the MWC devices then 18:9 is what we are looking at here with those thinner top and bottom bezels. Still people will complain that the bezels are still too large versus the competition etc etc etc.

The larger bezels could also mean LCD and not oled.
