Hi!

I am wading through this thread now ! Does Vodafone UK have the W960i already?

I know it is coming soon on their site... Iam off to the city tomorrow and can call in but I knew people here would be likely to know !!

@SKIBBE

It seems, that they fixed your phone! I will check the part list and the service manual tomorrow and try to figure what was "wrong" with your phone.

I did not hear about a new software out yet, but I will check EMMA as well tomorrow. By the way, I have R9H004, but it's a proto, so I'm thinking about flashing it, even if there is a brand new software for it.

Hi peeps been reading and waiting, what seem like fooking ages for this blower.
Today i have spoke to Vodafone and Orange and they both come back with the same response, like O2, it is going to be released in the next few days but it is waiting for an update on there system.
Tried to get more info out of the Orange guy as he was really helpful, he said as it is being release in the next couple of days they will only let it go on there systems on the release date, in case sony delay the date, again
hope this is of help, i was also given the date as Monday 7th, Jan.
He also took me number ans said that he would call back on it's release! I wait in hope.

Who's waiting!! I've had my SIM free one nearly a month now & still loving it

Hope the next update allows walman player visualisations to work via Bluetooth headset as its currently disabled (still works in the radio though!).

Anyone used that site before? Is it a trusted one? Seems very cheap, I'd be tempted to replace my K850i with one of these at that price!

@psikey
and everyone that owns a w960i

as you have seen before i guess, i had many complaints about the camera, what do you think of yours and what phones have you had before to compare it with.

i have my w900i to compare with and it does not match it for ages..

i take like 99% of my pictures indoors and it litterly sucks. it's even darker than my old t610 how is it possible?

when i look at the screen before i take the pictures, it's bright and clear, but as soon as you "take" the picture it goes dark.. why the F**K display a brighter image then it will be when the picture is done?

and it's slow to, to change if you point it at a bright object like the tv.

On what basis? With the propietary headphones? I dont think so.

It doesnt even have a 3.5mm port. The N81 has a DSP built in, its better.

This is like you arguing a PC withouth a graphics accelerator plays games better than a PC with a graphics accelerator.

And yes I have used P1. The W960 is after all the same hardware underneath.

The DSP is irrelevant for audio quality.

In the old days (1990s) CPU were too slow to be able to do signal (audio) processing in real time but nowadays the CPU can do all the audio processing in software, and there is no need to add a special DSP besides marketing requirements.

My office PC has a slow on board graphics chip and a fast multi core CPU - and guesses what: games run faster using software emulation than using the graphics chip.

Differences in audio quality stem from differences in software (firmware) implementation and differences in the digital/analog converters used.

The FastPort connector has advantages as well since it allows input (microphone, play/pause/stop, volume control) and output (audio/track name) whereas a a 3.5mm port only offers stereo sound.
