@Razec & Ramu:
Thanks a lot guys, can't say you made my day, it is already tomorrow...
- The specs are great
- The feedback on the proto photo is great
- There is even time for refinements untill announcement (September) and release (October?)
-> I can't wait for Honami to be announced! (I hope there will be events across the world, not only Berlin)
Ramu, I am wondering how many people read this thread, additionally to the members, but I am sure many will purchase Honami. You and the other Sony fans here are doing a great job keeping the flame and selling it, Sony should hire you!

@razec @ramu
great thanks, and of course we trust you both. I'm aware that this is preproduction software and a lot can change, but so far it all sounds good even if it's from preproduction software.

@Ramu Do you have information about the whole Sony Corp. or just the mobile division?

It's about the ported Xperia Home from Honami for other Android phones, with backlink to XDA. Nothing exciting.

I am willing to speculate that the sensor in the 1020 is made by Sony.. and very likely the same that will be used in the Honami, just cut into smaller pixels for zoom purposes.
Can anyone here with some connections at Sony confirm or deny my theory ? |

the sensor in the Lumia 1020 is made by Toshiba, the sensor in the Honami is Sony's own in house tech which will not be sold to other manufacturers at any price keeping it exclusive for Xperia models
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

If I'm not mistaken the new sensor in Honami will be exclusive to Sony (their creator ) until new next Flagship (probably the One Sony 2) and then they will sell it to other manufacturers... so they will have the edge foir at least 5-6 months I really hope that Honami will sell like Cake everywhere (Sony needs a step up in sold unit! they deserve it ) |

cu015170, by the amount of great noise and low detail (in full resolution), I am also thinking that 1020 uses Sony sensor !

i thought it was already confirmed that 1020 uses toshiba sensor? plus wasn't there news way back earlier this year that said sony would no longer allow mobile manufacturers to use their camera sensors anymore?

Yes, I guessing this was one of the things Kaz was going to 'fix', as he said in one of his interviews.

V.high certainty. Source is from SDI who make the sensor modules.
Sorry guys, looks like my original sources were right on this one, the 1/1.5" prototype either didn't exist or it was not chosen for mass production.
It's still a relatively large sensor, but it won't compete with the top digital compacts or the 808. It also explains why the pictures had a little noise in them at ISO160 in the samples I saw |
