I don't understand how the 1020 is more pocket friendly. It's a 4.5 inch device with dimensions almost same as a 5" Z or Honami
Lumia 1020
130.4 x 71.4 x 10.4 mm
Z/Honami
139 x 71 x 7.9/9.5 mm
Just to make it clear, Lumia 1020 is "only" 10.4 mm WITHOUT the camera bump. Real thickness of 1020 is ~ 4 mm more. |

There is talk in my circles of a new ground breaking accessory coming from Sony.
It's basically a small pocket of cotton attached along one edge to a larger pocket and the idea is that you put the small pocket in your jeans and hang the larger one outside, then put your phone in the larger pocket.
The larger pocket will come with different material finishes, 'denim blue denim', 'goth black denim' and 'black faux-leather'.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

Thanks for sharing your review about the pre production samples , can you give your impression on lowlight performance based on the sample pics you have? So far in 1020 I was impressed in it's lowlight from the sample at GsmArena, Also is there any hint at purple fringing from samples you've seen? (I'm assuming there's none since it is a G lens). Thanks in advance. No worries if you can't share info about it mate.

Thanks a lot Razec.
+1 to rEeflotz question, if you have the possibility to share this detail.
Although, as I posted, the Honami optical system offers 1.33 stop advantage over the Nokia EOS, so i think that low light shots doable in iso800 on the nokia can be done in ISO400 on the honami for a shorter shutter speed on the honami, so if iso400 is good, some work should be doable indoor with such a fast optical system.

Hi.
Something caught my attention in your post, there is a contradiction with the information we have for mouths.
Indeed, there is three possibilities :
- the equivalent focal length is 28mm and the sensor size is 2/3" (crop factor : 3.93), which leads us to a real focal length of 7.12mm (28/3.93) : that is what I thought to be reality and the best solution.
- the equivalent focal length is 28mm and the real focal length is 5mm (like you write in your post), which leads us to a crop factor of 5.6 and then a sensor size of 1/2.3" (crop factor of 5.64), the most common size for sensors of compact cameras : a very bad news because it is smaller than what we all expected.
- the sensor size is 2/3" and the real focal length is 5mm, which leads us to an equivalent focal length of 19.65mm : a very wide angle, definitely incoherent to integrate into a smartphone in which the angle of the lens is fixed...
Am I wrong? A big doubt settles suddenly...

Great observation, I honestly have no idea about the real sensor size so I didn't include it on the specs I've confirmed, and yes its 5mm based on the EXIF info I've extracted. if it translates to anything smaller than 2/3" then that's sad but let's not rule out the possibility that it could be a mistake on the EXIF data or something else. I don't know myself, as I was merely retelling what the samples told me

The sensor size is 2/3". No doubt about that. |

Don't know if I have missed a post on it but has therefore anything confirmed about the flash yet?

Hi I've been curious regarding the bezel of Honami and had a rough idea. Based on what litoni describe, Honami is 4mm taller than XZ and 2mm wider. Thus the dimension would be 143 x 73 x 7.9 mm.
(Above is Xperia C, dimension at 141.5 x 74.2 x 8.9 mm, 5 inch screen.) Could its bezel be that large? IMO the width 73 and 74 mm difference should feel similar in the hand.
Any thoughts on this?

Im not going to say much as I promised someone.
design wise: personal opinion: I am not impressed with the design if it is actually going to look like what I had saw.
dimension: 4mm taller than the Z, 2mm wider than the Z, thickness same as Z.
same magnetic dock thingy: seems like sony is going universal with that dock from now on, therefore no need to keep buying special made docks.
3.5 mm jack is on the top left (facing the front of the phone), no flaps covering it.
as spoken earlier by others, the bottom is indeed just speaker grills.
has a camera shutter key.

If Honami's camera would be able to come close to 1020 it would be a great achievment considering it is around 5mm thinner around the camera. |
