What about the volume of the K700?
is there a strong speaker louder than the T610/630?
Louder than the Z600?

Does anyone know if the K700 syncs in the same way as the T610 and therefore will work with Apple iSync right out of the box?
Apple added T610 support to iSync even before it was released last year so I wonder if such an update will be required this time too... |

The hole on the back of the phone that was going to contain the switch for the camera lens cover is still present on all the pictures and the SE flash presentaion!
I don't think anyone has mentioned this but I think it is quite a big issue to have a massive hole in the back of your phone for no purpose. Does anyone else agree?

Which hole is this? The long curved one across the top of the camera?
I always just assumed this was the speaker hole for the loud speaker, like those on the back of the P-Series.

In the local sychronisation section of the white paper, after it discusses the ability to synchronise via BT, IR and cable it mentions the following
File Transfer Utility
A utility is provided which enables files to be transferred to and from the phone connected to a PC.
In the K700 manual it also says
File Transfer
You can use a PC to view and transfer content contained in the File Manager (of the K700). You can use the drag-and-drop functionality in your PC to:
o Transfer files form the phone to the PC
o Transfer files from the PC to the phone
o Deletre files from the phone
So it would seem that you can do this via BT, IR and cable

A copy and paste from Eldars K700 review on MR:
"The hole which can be seen above the lens was supposed to be used for the camera’s shutter. But just few moments before the official launch this feature was removed, because it affected loudspeaker badly, volume was decreasing".
If this is the case then a little bit of redisgning should surely have been done, it looks like quite a big hole that stuff (dust/crumbs/etc)might get in.
Of course the reviewer might be wrong and it was designed to look like this but I suspect not. |

it could have been that the hole was intented for both the loudspeaker and the shutter, but because of the placement of the shutter on the loudspeaker the speaker was obstructed, so they left out the cap

Thats the exact same conclusion i came to. When the lens cover was shut, and you had loudspeaker on, it probably sounded all muffled and quiet compared to when the lens cover was open.
I assume on the S700, the loudspeaker is on the front of the phone since there appears to be 2 holes where the earpiece is, unless the loudspeaker is those 20 small holes cut out under where it says ' 1.3mp ' on the rear of the phone.

That is also my conclusion about the K700.
As for the S700 I think the speaker will be behind the 20holes on the back and the shutter will not interfere on that one.

i'm from the states... and basically my options right now are to buy from ebay or to buy from some website and have it shipped internationally.... i did a few searches on google but most sites still don't have it yet and the ones that do, have outrageous prices... expansys US has it for under $500 but its still preorder.. i emailed them to ask when they expect to have it but so far no reply. so anybody have any suggestions for where i can get the phone internationally and for under or around $500 USD??? ... i doubt any of the ebay auctions will end anywhere less than $600 so i'm not even gonna try. anyways, any suggestions are appreciated. |
