So the Snapdragon 815 is apparently sampling very soon. 20nm TSMC process, expected mass market delivery for late Q2/early Q3 2015.
Looking good for the LG G4 and Sony's H2 flag and possibly the Note 5.
It utilises Qualcomm's first 64bit custom architecture, Kyro, but not the final version, rather an early version.
I do wonder whether Qualcomm would have been better off not bothering with the 810 and just bringing the 815 release forwards by a few months. The 820 is not going to be ready until next year. The 810 has really hit their reputation for delivering efficient and quality silicon by using off the shelf architecture for 64bit rather than backing their own IP.
If I were Sony I wouldn't even bother with the Z4 and just go in hard with the Z3 and get some discounts on the screen and chips now that they are quite old. Reprice it to £349/$399 offline and just wait it out for S815 and have a July release of the Z4 with S815/QHD/4GB DDR4.
I'm sure Sony's hardware team will manage to tame the S810 but it seems like a lot of work for not very much gain.

I wonder if the first 810 sample units were overheating more than Sony wanted? And then perhaps Sony then needed to either wait for new revised 810 samples or the Z4 construction had to be rebuilt to accommodate the extra heat generated? Or perhaps the delay is because Sony is switching to the one flagship per year cycle now. Whatever the reasons I honestly hope the next Sony flagship will not be put out to market because they need a 810 competitor. If it is true what ZOMG says and a 2H flagship is due with a 815, then there is no point in even waiting for the Z4
@JohnnyNr.5
ZOMG says there is a 2H flagship, unless this will or can be moved to 1H 2016. |

one of few sites i trust android central.
The result on the M9? Pretty much nothing. I could feel the phone heat up some, but not to anywhere near what anyone would reasonably call uncomfortable, let alone dangerous. It simply did not happen under what is considered normal, if not solid, use. Not even enough cause for concern to even worry about taking its temperature.
After nearly two weeks of use, concerns over the M9's Snapdragon 810 processor prove unfounded

I highly suspect low specs z4 comes with 810 3gb 1080p while high specs comes with 815 4gb 1440p |

Sony just need to start looking into other options outside of Qualcomm, get exclusive deal or something from nVidia. |

Nvidia chipsets run too hot,that's why no one uses it for smartphones,but only for tablets.Mediatek chipsets are great for mid-range,yet their high-end offerings come too late from competition and up until recently they lagged lte modem.Using different SoC from different companies would require more workforce from Sony Mobile,something that they can't afford since they've been hit with layoffs.That's the reason Sony sticks mostly with Qualcomm,while they test mediatek chipsets for low-end smartphones.Sony should have used custom chipsets for high-end smartphones,however,qualcomm offerings were always superior and cost-effective(especially snapdragon 800-series) that's why no one bothered.Hopefully,the fact that qualcomm lost Samsung S6 sales,will make them work twice as hard to ensure at least up to par competition. |

Hi all check out the images of the Sony Smart B Trainer on XperiaBlog it's not the headset that's interesting here it's the white phone just out of shot in the first 2 images. It looks very much like the Z4 we've been seeing leaked recently. What do you guys think?
Ps I can't post the images unfortunately

Yeah, could that be the Z4? Looks very similar to the recent leaks.
