Advantages of n95 over k850:
-Screen (size+resolution)
-Video Recording
-GPS
-Browser capability
-3.5mm jack
-Wifi
-4 month market presence (time to work on fw update, drop the initial rush price)
k850i advantages:
-Triband hsdpa
-Xenon Flash
-Battery (albeit it may be more of a tossup when the 1200mah battery hits shelves)
----------
Tossups:
-Symbian vs SE UI
-Camera (let's wait for definitive production picture comparisons, but I will lean towards k850i in this department, especially because of the flash)
so it's 6 to 2.5
decisive victory, especially if, by the time the k850i comes out, the n95 is in the same price range...
the K850 does have video recording at 30fps
& its a Quad band not Tri band

re plank, I was simply making a point, not trying to be rude.
re n95 battery: New n95's will be loaded with 1200mah battery, which should increase capacity by at least 1/4th.
new N95 with better battery, is just a rumor. (maybe it comes to USA, but it will not come to the rest of the world). we talked about this on a Swedish forum som weeks ago. and they thought it probably was a rumor. (so dont "wait" for some miracles). N95 is a phone with BIG problems, (its so many many N95 people in Sweden (and the rest of the world) who are very disappointed

Yes, it does have video recording at 30fps, but only in QVGA. N95 can record at VGA@30fps. And it's Quadband GSM/EDGE and Triband UMTS/HSDPA
Better Player?? I've seen videos using it and it's great, and it has some more options (just a few) than walkman players don't have.
The only advantages of K850 is xenon flash, slighty better picture quality and battery life. N95 is not perfect but it's a great phone.
PD: Where is dogman when we need a consistent argument??

Lad, you make me laugh.
+K850's camera is BETTER.
+K850 is slimmer (duh, NOKIA always makes bricks)
+K850's battery lasts twice as long.
+You CAN add GPS to th K850 IF you want, which, IMHO, is an advantage.
+SE has the best OS.
+Xenon flash PLUS LED torch for video recording, anyone?
+Accelometer
+TrackID (a huge plus for me)
+Totally awesome media center
+K850 looks better, IMO
-N95 has WiFi
-3.5mm jack (although SE's headphones have one, too)
-16 million colours
-N95's screen is 0.4" larger.
-N95 records at VGA res, while K850 at QVGA.
Both have HSDPA.
Both have quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS.
Both have same screen res.
Ahem... questions?

nightblade, N95 has much better video recording (VGA resolution), certainly not similar video capabilities. And a comparision in size between the two shows the N95 isnt that much of a brick (thicker maybe, but not a huge difference). Both have media players/visualisations, so nothing unique there. I agree with the rest. Depends what you want in a phone, each point there will mean more or less to different people.
One very bad point you could say about the N95 is the build quality (at least on my one). The camera switch and silver ring is really loose, and the bit of plastic within the ring and around the flash moves when the camera is activated each time. The slider mechanism is loose too.
However, SE have equally, if not worse build quality issues.
Once again it is down to what you want in a phone and what you like. Ill be getting the K850 when it comes out, mainly because i prefer SE UI and only use camera and mp3 player. So for me a nokia is pointless, i wouldnt embrace all their features.

How can you judge attributes about a phone (camera quality, battery life) when it hasn't even come out.
It's drivel like that that makes these threads inanely long and quite repetitive |

hey ppl this is a k850 cybershot discussion...when did it turn into a k850 vs n95 comparison???
ps..IMO both are in a diff league....k850 is jus a normal phone with really good media capabilities!! while n95 is a smartphone!!! (symbian)
ppl jus see that both have a 5 mp camera and think they are in the same league!!!
if u really must compare n95 do it with an SE smartphone...p1i (guess it has less features) ...or the rumoured p3i!!!
i like k850i for SE's UI.....even tho its changed in k850 i think its still awesome...and far more simpler than symbian!!! |

I think its true it should not be compared with the n95 as that isnt its true rival. Its true rival will be the n82. With the n82 having a xenon flash it really will be even closer as even that will have gps as well as the usual vga video and rest. Whats more its even been said that the n82 will be pretty much the same price as the k850. If this turns out to be true then the k850 could be in trouble.

There's a little something, called reviews. Even as a prototype, k850's camera beat N95's.
As for battery life, c'mon, you can't be serious. Comparing a N95's battery with a SE one. Besides, on the NOKIA site it says that N95 has a stand by time of 200h, whilst SE phones usually have one of 300-400h.

maybe.... depends on which region the phone is from. 's from Asia, 'usually' can be turned off by setting the phone profile to silent. Other regions like Europe etc, i dont think can be turned off.

The only reason the k850i is being compared to the n95 is due to the economics.
Money rules any market and by the time the k850i is launched, it will be roughly the same price as the n95.
So for my dollar, I'm trying to get as much bang as I can. I could care less who the manufacturer is except for its trackrecord for phone production and its quality control.
I have no allegiance to a cell phone company. That's just plain silly. They need to win my dollars. |

oh my god ppl get a ******* life, im so sick of reading the whole forums of the n95 vs k850 debate i never polute the n95 threads with ahh our k850 is better because you know what i dont care about that phone, i like the k850. each has their plus points and minus points, no phone if perfect. I would never go to a Nokia forum and start saying how the K850 is better, its so childish.
Im just so annoyed with ppl comparing the 2 when one isnt even out, and even when it is out (the K850) who cares, if you dont like it dont buy it.

Uahahahaha this made me laugh, dude GPS in java based phone is simply PAIN IN ASS. I used it once, and promised to never use it again, it's shitty, it consumes money for GPRS map, and if u go outside country, You will pay for navigation more than a k850i is worth. Never again say GPS on java phone pls. | |
