IMO, there's no definite way you can compare the quality of these phones camera -- it ultimately depends on the settings used.
resistance is futile. |

Since the K790/K800 is around, it's high time the phone camera thread is bumped. I don't want to start another thread as it's been created already
Mark_Q, we'd all be grateful if you can grace the thread.
You have my respect sir! We're all hoping to learn from you.

axilom,
Thanks for your kind words, they warmed my heart giving strength to go on. Anyhow the short summer here in Finland is blossoming and I'm on vacation trying to limit my time on PC to minimum... you surely understand. But I bookmarked that thread. Later. |

just hope more site come out with proper comparison.
i always believe online site can give better comparison since they have access
to different model given by manufacturer for review purpose.
while for normal user...most of the time we just can based on the previous model one owns and the new phone.
plus the way shot can be compare from what I notice is mostly on each reviewed phone being used to take the same shot
taking photograph isn't a simple task...there's a lot of knowledge in getting the best shot...so for those who want to decide what phone to get or whether want to get a k800...just look around in the net for more phone review on K800.
btw it is still feeling very weord whenever i see comparison made on N93 with K800...just because both uses 3 megapixel don't mean we can compare them as both phone is totally different category. N93 is way too advanced. |

"Records video in ancient QCIF (176 x 144 pixels) resolution only"
is this better or worse resolution than the K750i had? |

Man, there's alot of bitching going about the k800 around the web...it's all well and good moaning about some review's that people have read, but at the end of the day, wait until the handset is released.
The jump in quality was never going to be huge from the k750i to k800i anyway..as it stands, the k750i, imo, take's superb pictures, and it's a compliment to that handset that some people are saying there isn't much difference (on appearence) to the picture's it produces. I am very happy with the k750i anyway...let's just give the k800 a chance..i'm sure it'll turn out to be a great handset, and a sure fire best seller....make your own mind's up when you have the phone...i know i will ... |

Its a gimmick - nothing more nothing less
the photos are nice if you only want to view them on the screen
they are also quite useful if you have an exitent with you car...
trust me, i'm really into photographing and filming - go for a small compact cam

You are either on crack or you have never used a K750. A gimmick??? It's a freakin 2 mega pixel camera and the pictures DEFINETLY look good on a computer screen, Not just the phone's screen. They even produce very VERY reasonable 4x5 printouts.
A gimmick.... Give me a freakin' break! Have you even BOTHERED to look at the K750/W800 picture thread!? |

@tervel and jj03
Well said
But this always happens when a new handset arrives
When the K750i arrived some members used to gloat over it stealing the best camphone title from the S700 owners.
Now the new kid on the block has image stablisation and more mp and the bitchin starts
I like the K800 and I am sure it will be a big seller. It's big on features and the cam has a lot going for it so it will be easy to push for

Looking good...Well, today is the beginning of the week in which the K800i's will start trickling, and we can get loads of good user feedback from the FINAL edition of the phone...Well, in the US it is the beginning of the week. You Asians might already be into 2007 or something, lol.
