It will very interesting to see a cameraphone shoot between the Honami and the 1020. The only thing the 1020 has is a very good camera and thats about it were as the Honami will be a full multimedia device ie. camera, screen, music just to name a few would be interesing to see a side by side spec sheet from the Honami (XR5 specs) next to the 1020 confirmed specs.

Nokia has a great track record of putting some incredible Screens and Audio in their phones, lets not forget they still have the best Maps app around, they aren't just a one trick pony.

Isn't Nokia the only one with a true camera phone? Along with the samsumida Zoom?

Sure, its a great camera, but it's lacking in other equally important aspects of a smartphone.

Sony's honami isn't a camera phone, it's just a smartphone with a great camera. There is a difference!

so nice how some new info, no matter how tiny, sparks the thread to blow up again!

i'd be sad if IR blaster isn't included, but there are workarounds I suppose. Not that I'd even use the feature that often to be honest.

Keep it in perspective everyone. Honami's sensor may share things with RX100II's sensor, but it won't be the same size among other things. Keep your expectations reasonable

If that is the EOS's best low light performance, then its disappointing. But, we would always say to wait for the final unit, so let's wait for Nokia's. Also, I am a firm believer that the photographer makes a difference when showing what a camera can really do. Nokia's event is Friday isn't it?

IFA can't come soon enough!

Meh for 1020. I just don't feel it like when they announced 808.

Anyway, ramu is the announcement of Honami on August or during IFA? I feel they would have a big event before IFA then just exhibit the device during IFA or announce some others. Probably because of the invitation, no teasing Honami nor any device.

There will be some great accessories to be announced along with Honami, even greater than SW2. But sorry, no details yet.

I pray hard that it'll be the long awaited MXE-60 successor

EDIT: so Nokia 1020 actually uses the same sized sensor as Honami (1/1.5"), that means the question of who's going to be the cameraphone king boils down into which sensor tech is better(I assume Nokia's are made by Toshiba or Aptina) as well as JPEG engine that makes use of the hardware; Zeiss vs G, Sony sensor vs Toshiba/Aptina sensor, Honami JPEG Engine vs Nokia JPEG Engine. this neck and neck comparison reminds me when K750 was pitted against N90 8 years ago.

Nice. At the biggest event this thread will see this year, the damn event will be, for me, at 11h15am, I will be at school. Even better, I will get home only at 6h20pm at home. So I will miss the press event, and a thousand new pages this thing will have.

Considering that, anyone knows if they usually save the press event somewhere so I can watch later?

About Lumia 1020, I must say I am impressed by some of their camera stuff. That Here Software, the huge zoom thing, image stabilization and such... But, still have so see the final camea samples...
I don't get people. Never Have, never will.

afaik there's no guarantee that honami is gonna be announced at IFA? i mean, sony, could very easily do a surprise or last minute press conf in august.

the invite for IFA had no hints of new devices or anything..
