It took me a while to adjust to UIQ3 Wangs. At one stage I wanted to throw the phone against the wall cause I could never find what I was looking for.Now I can do it blindfolded.

Ya, for a start the 'back' key on the P1i is located under the scroll wheel on the side of the phone. Handy once you remember it's there...

Wanqa i see the P900 did some work today. . .hehe
Hows the Web browsing on the P1? Are you able to smoothly browse the Full HTML Esato with it? Did you update the firmware or didn't find the need to? And how is it?

@dad - Just a FLASHBACK-query here Sir, had you gotten the P990i (complete packaging) and NOT the P1i . . . will you still be sellin' your N73 back then If NOT, I guess it was prudent if you just opted for the P990i so you can STILL hav your preeeeeecious - N73 with you pal

So, who are included in Santa's pre-Christmas List

Nice weak-and to all SA friends . . . . [addsig]

@ Gucci,
LOL, it's been a bit of fun and games today, not the P1i's fault but with Orange.
Now Orange couldn't give me WAP/ GPRS settings for the P1i, as they don't stock it yet, so I had to do it through 's UK site, which was dead easy to do. Settings sent via SMS, complete with installation password etc.
OK, sorted. Then I try visit esato, using HTML on the phone's default Opera 8.65 browser (I've yet to download Opera Mini for the P1i). Nope, it keeps reverting me back to the initial esato page message if I do:

(taken with the K550i):

So then I use good ol' 'lite'/ XHTML :

..and when I tried to get onto the discussion forums, check what Orange tunes me (!)

Now to de-activate Orange Safeguard, I have to phone them up. After being put on hold for what seemed like ages, I put the phone down as we off to visit friends, and took the P900 with me instead, which has an O2 sim in it. I left the P1i on its initial charge and off we went.
I'll give Orange another try tomorrow (well later today, looking at the time now...), and install Opera Mini too.

Why Orange then? Easy, free evening browsing, amongst other incentives.
Haven't done the update yet either; will read through that thread again shortly, but I won't be rushing to get it done ASAP, maybe the next F/W update... For a start it doesn't seem to have cured the occasional green tint in the pics (and no, I'm not talking about my selected theme either LOL), although I personally haven't noticed this yet, as I've yet to upload the few photos I've taken so far onto the PC. All in time...

@ Jojo,
Like most of the regulars around here, check your post box in about a week's time....
About the P990i, I would've still sold the N73 anyway, as pics taken with a P990i, as you know, would be good enough.
Have gr8 weekend there too, mate.

Right, it's nearly 3am. G'night, ya'll.

@ Hobbster,
Unfortunately it's not free if using the phone as a modem... here's their T & C:

'Fair usage policy: To ensure the fair allocation of network resources for all customers the Offer may not be used for: modem access for computers, internet based streaming services, voice or video over the internet, Instant Messaging, peer to peer file sharing and non Orange internet based video.'

Whereas that all seems quite restrictive, I have to remind myself that evening browsing and posting on forums etc is indeed free, so perhaps I shouldn't complain too much.

I remember driving around areas between Franschoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl, when the mrs and I were looking at wedding reception places back in 2002. (We eventually settled for a nice coastal resort near Yzerfontein and Langebaan, called Ganzekraal).
You're right about the area, there are indeed some stunning roads and scenic routes to twist the throttle along around there. I'm actually very well behaved when taking pillion/passenger though...

@ Kyle,
Welcome to the thread! You're indeed most welcome here. Like The Hobbster said, hopefully we'll see more of you.
BTW, I tried this link re the mall, but unfortunately it's a bit of a dead end, to say the least...:
http://www.rustenburg.co.za/shoppingcentres.htm

@ gola,
Yeah it is still such a fantastic handset; the fact that it is still on sale here, even with the K800i and K850i, as well as the Walkman phones, says it all really. They go for 59.95 (approx R850) here, subject to a 10 top-up. That's one helluva lot of phone for the money, as you know.
Hope you come right there.
