@ Mario,
Here you go, £69.99 (approx R1000) for a 8 Gig M2 Sandisk memory card:
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Memory-Stick-Micro---M2
Therefore P1i + 8Gb M2 = R4500.

@ Gucci,
Ya, I guess out of that 'episode', I ended up with the brand new P1i, so not too shabby an ending for today's adventure in Wanqaland.

Thats what I want Wangs,a 8GB memory card.My 2GB card is pretty much filled to capacity. At R1000 I think its a great buy.I would hate to know what you'd pay here for a 8GB card if you had to walk into a Vodacom shop.I got mine on special but 2 months back you'd would have paid R699.00 for a 2GB card.Crazy.Incredible Connection selling the Nokia N95 for R6399.00 so add a grand or two on for the 8GB version I'd say.

@ Hobbster,
How's this, that memory card shop site that I posted sells 4 Gigs for £29.99 (approx R420). Not too shabby, hey?
Maybe I must buy memory cards from them in bulk, then bring loads with me when I'm next in SA; you and Kryptik et al could make a killing down there LOL.

That's good to hear that both the K850i and the W910i have been advertised in SA already, not too far behind the European market availability.

@ Jojo,
Maybe Mr. Freeze had something to do with Spidey freezing like that..oh hold on, that was a DC Comics villain...
Anyway, here's a bigger .gif of that um...unusual Spiderman dance:
...and he's even been spotted on the race track!

@dad - Whooooooooooaaaaa !!! Congrats with your purchase of the P1i at last the fone that you were dreaming of . . . how I wish that the P990i packaging was COMPLETE so you can JOIN the club but I'm very certain that you will be more amazed with what your P1i can do for you I was opting for that fone to prior to gettin' my P990 'bout 2 weeks ago, it's just that I did NOT like the physical-appearance as it has no FLIP (cover on the keypad some says that the P1i LOOKS like that of the P990i MINUS the FLIP (cover) . . .
Nice SPIDEY-bike-rider pic dude . . . a RARE find indeed but the GUY looks more like a giant-snake than that of a Max Biaggi to me
Enjoy your weekends mates !

@ Jojo,
Thanks mate. Yeah, I really didn't expect to end up with a P1i today.
I do like the flip option a lot on the earlier P-series, and I guess, to an extent, I feel a bit lost without it.. I'll adapt in time, I'm sure.
About the 'Spiderman' on the GP bike, here's a bit of info about it (from a few years ago), some of the proceeds from this publicity stunt going to a charity:
'Tech 3 Yamaha star Marco Melandri returned to his Spiderman livery in Estoril, to coincide with the launch of the Spider-man 2 movie in Italy.
The Italian rider first sported the livery in the 250cc race at the 2002 Italian Grand Prix, and his 2004 'costume' again includes specially made leathers and fairing.
Melandri will auction his Spiderman leathers, helmet, gloves, boots and Yamaha fairing at the end of the month. All proceeds will go to Melandri's favourite charity 'Emergency' with the money going to the Panshir Medical Centre in the Afghan village of Anabah.'

@ Jojo,
the P1i comes with a 512MB card as standard in the box, the 1 Gig card I bought at the same shop is for the Mrs' K550i.
The price for the 1 Gig was close enough to the below-mentioned site's price, when taking into account the postage etc.
I'll be ordering a 4 Gig from http://www.mymemory.co.uk soon, as their prices are virtually unbeatable.

@ama - OK, thanks fof the Spidey-Bike Info pal . . . Yup, I am hearing about - Melandri's name in the Big Bike Races (GP) ages ago. Is he still active at present How I wish that Marco made a cameo-role in the Spiderman II flick riding his Bike in that Spidey-costume:???:
WOW, your wifey sure has lots of files to fill her 1GB M2 card pal is she a cam-girl too like you
I know that you'll be happy with your P1i pal, as you manage to KEEP your P900 for STRAIGHT four years I will be LUCKY if this P990 of mine will last in my hands for a month as I change fones (2nd hand mostly) from time to time
Will you be usin' your P1i as your everyday-camfone now I mean just like what you did with your N73 back then or a digicam? They say that the cam on the P1i is MUCH better compared with the P990i
Congrats again with the purchase - Professor !

Thank you, mate.
The better half is very quickly learning the joys of cellphone photography with her K550i, and as she's quite into her music as well, I thought I'd better settle for a 1 Gig, which I know will be ample for her.
But when we go touring and sight-seeing, I can see that the memory card's capacity will be well-utilised.
As regards using the P1i's camera, you bet; it's going to be working a helluva lot with me. It effectively carries on where the N73 left off.
I know there's a slight (Kawasaki )-green tint appearing on part of some P1i pics from what I read in another thread, but I'm not deterred by that; either the November firmware upgrade'll sort that out or I'll find other ways to overcome it if it does decide to manifest. However, the few pics I took this evening with the P1i seem fine so far...
As regards Marco Melandri, he's still doing very well. He's currently 4th in the 2007 Moto GP championship, with 1 race remaining.
Hope you're having a good Friday there; I'm going to catch some now; it's 1am and I can see us battling to get up tomorrow (again..)
G'night, mate.
