will the c905 have a torch function?
I remember I saw the torch function in the menu of one of the prototypes tested and shown on YouTube. |

Was this a Vodafone version of the W850i? I believe the Vodafone versions had that annoying text message interface that made it an MMS if you added an animation, but I think it was only part of the Vodafone firmware, not any other brands. I may be wrong, but I think that's right.
So it shouldn't do that if you don't get a Vodafone version.

Well, here's how things work on my phone and how they also work on the A200 platform:
You can add smileys to an SMS and send it to any phone (no matter wheter it's SE or not). The smileys are actually sent as symbols and translated on the other side (the person you're sending it to) if a graphical representation is available (like the IM clients). Now, there are also these cool animations that you can add to an SMS (cooler smileys) that will only be visible on SE phones, but the message remains an SMS, AFAIK.
EDIT:Really? Oh well, then, I'll keep the above info anyways.

@Nightblade: I believe he is talking about Vodafone software. My W910i and V630i both did what he was saying and they were both Vodafone firmware versions.
Basically you go into writing a text and its like the MMS interface, but you're writing a text. As soon as you add anything like a picture or sound, the text turns into an MMS automatically. Unfortunately, with Vodafone going about their normal annoying business, they made it so adding one of those "cooler smiley" animations would make the text into an MMS.
The whole Vodafone texting interface is probably the single most annoying part of the Vodafone firmware. I just don't see why they did this at all because there was nothing wrong with the usual SE texting interface. Stupid Vodafone.
Anyway, as long as you don't buy a Vodafone branded phone, you won't get that crap-ass texting interface.

You dont see why? Ah! I see why: what's more expensve, an SMS or an MMS?
Also I believe the "cool animations" are part of the so called EMS messages, which can be displayed on any EMS-enabled phone. Obviously each brand will render the specific animation in a different way but a smile will always be seen as a smile, a devil as a devil and so on... I think.

yea dats true vodafone branded phones change to mms if you do much more than write text. putting generic frimware on my vodafone branded k610i was one of my better ideas lol.
Edit: I personally think SE's icons look cooler anyway

Well yeah I figured it was because MMS is more expensive, but I just hoped Vodafone were better than that. Guess not...

That's what I trying to said before (see page 88). Smape, M-R and mobil.idnes.cz use old firmware version.
Even photos from andershansen are NOT using the final firmware (camdriver.) I know the newer one (sadly, no noticeable improvements in this new firmware, only adding geotagging in the EXIF).
Eldar is quite right about his proto preview. He using the same proto as mobil.idnes.cz, crap quality. Although Smape using older firmware, the quality is better, same quality as the photos from andershansen.
But I'm sad right now because Innov8 photos is better. Hope the final C905 smacks down Innov8.
By the way, I using Photoshop CS3 to view EXIF. We can use opera broweser, too (right-click, image properties)
And did you know? Eldar mentions next-gen CyberShot phones that would be in the market at the end of Summer (Micks2005 said that it would be released earlier, before summer, boasting 10 MP with 3x Optical zoom).
"This is a complete upgrade of optics, boasting next-generation matrix Exmor from Sony with greater sensor-size and once again the high cost (700-800 dollars allegedly at the time of exit)."

Upon reading and looking at the reviews nd samples from all C905 and innv8 reviews i can say innov8 and c905 have same image quality for their cameras, the only thing that sets them apart was the post processing they applied on their particular model. innov8's post processing is better (To be honest) than C905's based from the better samples from smape and flickr. but it is by no means that innov8 camera is much better than C905's. on the c905's the post processing used on eldar's samples were highly detailed, meaning the aggressive N-R application which was used on smape's and flickrs is not applied hence better details and no smearing. but the latter two have better colors, no purple fringing and have excellent contrasts but details were lesser than eldar's proto sample. So to sum it up if SE use both algorithms from the different prototypes mentioned above and balanced it according to the need, then they'll end up with a better image quality for their C905 (more details, lesser noise, better colors, no purple fringing and higher contrast)

Lol nah dude. Vodafone phones are the same all over the world. The free text weekends was New Zealand only. Also, that new texting interface came in well after free text weekends.
