not much. autofocus doesn't work well in low light I don't have any recipe for this problem. autofocus light assist (red led) is too weak
all
why autofocus light is red? I would like to know
a_amirfarzam
red eye reduction = forced flash

Autofocus light is red simply because the production of red color requires less power than any other color |

Raider there weren't any problems with sharpness in previous versions of yours camdrivers. I'm using version 621 , because it is better then 633 in low light conditions. I don't know why? |

post examples plz to prove your point of view
I have no 6.2.1 version, but I think that current version provides almost perfect (in comparison with stock camdriver, of course) shots
If would be interesting if previous version were better

i got to say many pictures taken AT LOW LIGHT (BAR or disco for example) with sharpness at value 6 are really really blured, no sharpness at all like the previous user said.. tried some with 8 they are really better. i'll post some tomorrow. CAN'T SAY if it is just coincidence, but they are like from no sharp at all, and nice sharp. (talking about low light) in day light the difference is way smaller.

allwhy autofocus light is red? I would like to know
Raider
In fact the reason for using red light as AF assist is, that semoconductor based foto matrix is more sensitible for ling-wave light. Matrix is the most sensitive in infra red!
Did you ever tried to use any digital camera (not mather: k800i or any other, even regular photo camera) to watch TV remote when sending commands to TV? IR light transmited by the remote is visible for camera I used this fact several times to check if remote controller is working or needs batery to be replaced
Raider, is this explanation acceptable for You?
...and of course, thank You for very good driver. I'm using v6.3 with pleasure.

thx! to be honest I really don't like this red thing. I miss my two bright white tiny leds from W800 they saved me many times in darkness

Yes. I still love my little K750 with it leds. Is it possible for us to make a patch forcing the white led on k800? |

i think i said EM was better in that version too
illusion - I never changed SEM/EM algorithm
i got to say many pictures taken AT LOW LIGHT...
hold on, you're writing about 2 different things. sharpness value have nothing to do with blurry pictures in low light. first: differences between sharpness 06 and 07 are so small that you cannot see them (I can't even in accurate test). second: blur is not because of sharpness value but because of shaked hand or inaccurate autofocus. third: blur because of shaked hand in normal thing in low light. fourth: inaccurate autofocus in low light is quite normal thing

6.2.1 better in autofocus? in my opinion this is illusion because of two reasons:
1. autofocus cannot be touched deeper. I mean there is no such a possibility to influence on accuracy more than only by changing range of scanning and scanning method. range in fact don't have any influence on accuracy, method is a bit different story...
2. before every release I'm doing a lot of shots in various conditions. during this shots my attention is focused on "how it worked before and how it's working now". autofocus is always on the front line because it test is repeated many times (almost every photo). I noticed that autofocus doesn't work as before only once - when I changed scanning method in 6.3.3. nothing happened for no macro shots, it worked as before and I couldn't feel difference, maybe because of fact that autofocus result wasn't problem in no macro situations. for macro shots results were very different - I had full autofocus success in most cases when before autofocus didn't worked at all. I couldn't believe and I repeated shots many times before I believed and released 6.3.3
hiuh, what's the point... there is no good (if any) reason why autofocus in 6.2.1 should work better than in new version. of course I'm opened on every kind of comparision which can show differences, but I'm talking about real comparision - "identical" scene, light, camera angle etc.

wickedsick, white led?? Where you see white led on k800/k810??
Our phones use xenon, and xenon can't simulate led...

My bad. I meant Xenon at white-stage not led

oh, ok thank you raidersky.
maybe that's because i useEM and flash all the time. maybe i should use SEM ?
i think EM will use slower shutter and takes longer to get the perfect result, then picture comes out blured because i move. |
