Guys,how's the software support for UIQ.Does W960i supports vast amount of applications like Nokia S60 series symbian. |

I have the sony ericsson w960i and i have a few things to add on. first of all the wall paper you can't adjust dragging the picture around, how you want your wallpaper you want it to fit the screen, you only have the right bar you can make the picture large or small. my other concern is you can't record conversation while your talking on the phone, i am really suprsied why they did that all my sony ericsson phone had that except w960i. and the other thing i have a problem with my videos, when i play a video song the picture freezes and all i hear is the sound. anybody has any of these concern please reply back i need to know. hopefully sony will come up with a new software. thanks guys |

Sony Ericsson phones dont feature any music enhancing technology. Even the Nokia 5610 features a chip dedicated for enhancing music quality. Phones like the N95 ect....all use a digital signal processor as part of the OAMP 2420 chip which when used with 3rd party headphones give as good quality as ipod touch or 5th gen ipod. RMA tests have proved this aswell so dont try and say im talking rubbish. The truth is that SE used to be good for music with the W800 but they havent moved on much since then where as companies like Nokia employ using music enhancing chipsets so have overtaken them.

 So because "S60 phones has an audio chip" - as you said - they've got better audio quality than W960? That's a lie. I've had N95 and the sound quality is not better than W960's. MANY people will agree with me on this. W960 has very good audio quality with or without an audio chip.

Yeah I'd have to agree. I've been playing with mine for a day or so and the audio quality is the best I've seen from Walkman phones. |

Its good but no better than on the P1. There is no new music enhancing technology to boost the quality for the music flagship device. The only difference is that the volume has been given a boost.
And when I say on Nokias I do of course mean with 3rd party headphones, not those horrible Nokia propietary headphones.

Just to add my 2 cents here
How can you claim that if you didn't even know if the W960 had been released. If you are basing your opinion on the few reviews that have been released (MR and GSM Arena tested prototypes) then you have no place to criticize anyone. Eldar from MR actually admitted that the sound quality on the W960 is very good in a Podcast he made after the review. |

Let me tell you something: the sound quality in the W960 is much better, then in the P1. Did you ever had any of these two phones in your hand?? I guess not... |

On what basis? With the propietary headphones? I dont think so.
It doesnt even have a 3.5mm port. The N81 has a DSP built in, its better.
This is like you arguing a PC withouth a graphics accelerator plays games better than a PC with a graphics accelerator.
And yes I have used P1. The W960 is after all the same hardware underneath. |
