Best O2 contract deal you have heard of. |

Hey guys, I'm hoping you lot can give me some advice regarding O2 Online.
I got an O2 Online Contract September last year - K700i with 200 xnetwork anytime minutes and 500 texts at £36.10 a month including O2 Gold Insurance. I'm absolutely desperate for an upgrade to the K750i - my K700i is absolutely nackered and I've had it so long now I just hate it! I just don't want to ring them up and get a rediculous deal where I pay a huge sum just to upgrade the handset, and miss out on potentially more free minutes and/or texts - I'm a soft touch you see and I'd probably just say yes to whatever deal they throw at me...
The reason I'm posting here is because I've read through the above thread and you guys seem to be getting fantastic deals by being... Pushy?! It sounds like if you are confident in your cause they seem to give you what you want... Could you guys give me some advise on what I could reasonably be saying to them when I call them?
Any help muchos appreciated |

I'm on a o2 off peak 300 and ends this months so i phoned them up yesterday. At first i rung up the upgrade line saying i wanted a k750 they told me it's going to set you back £79.99!! (Though for new contract its only £29.99)..but can give you half price line rental if you want for 10 months but no offer on a phone (offer only for only today...(swear she was just bluffing!)) So I went and enquired over at their customer service and they told me to phone cancellation line and tell them the situation (told me some bugs in the system)..so I did (luckily it doesn cost me anything phoning customer care at weekends!). The lady at cancellation said why you wanna cancel so I just told her about the situation, and without thinking she said oh yea thats fine, I'll give you the phone for £29.99 and 12 months half price line rental! Shame I have to wait another 2 weeks and phone back cos they are currently out of stock at the moment >.<
O2 are one of the best operators in my opinion.

I rang about half a month ago, and got a K750i (had to pay £29.99 for it) with 750 xnet anytime mins, 500 txts for £15 a month. I dunno why they gave me 750 mins, cos they said they'd only give me 500 ... but whatever.
GMF I stuck to an imaginary deal from '3' of 500 xnet mins 500 txts and an e1000 for free, £15 a month. Rang the 0800 number given here, asked for my PAC code cos I was leaving.. the bloke asked me why, I told him of this deal. He tried to talk me round saying '3' were crap and all that. Eventually he said okay then i'll transfer you to the right place. He transfered me to a woman who did exactly the same as the bloke did, then transfered me to another woman, who, again asked me about the deal '3' were giving me. She offered me a price match to stay, and asked me what phone I wanted etc... and it was done, now i'm happy.
If you get a good deal, ring back a week later, just to make sure they have actually changed it. |

I'm on an 02 200 tarrif which i'm told can be upgraded on 30th Aug, so not long to go and hence im looking through this really useful thread to keep an eye on what people are being offered. I however am with Carphone Warehouse re 02 billing. Does this mean I have to go through them (guess it does) - and has anyone else managed to get a better deal through them?
Thanks!

I got lucky, they upped the price later in the day too. I was lucky because the operator i spoke too was selling the w800i for the first time as the stock had just come in, so she probably didnt know how popular this phone will be!! So in future phone early morning for an upgrade! |

Grandma Funk: you dont need to be pushy at all. Just simply ask for the PAC code, and THEY will be the ones offering you the deals. If its worse than 15 quid for 500 mins, then just go 'ummm, nah .3 are still better value'. They'll just give you a better deal on the spot. Theres no pushiness about it.

Hi there
Could anyone offer me some advice?
I am looking at getting a k750i. I am currently using the pay as you go 02 300 txts a month sim card. I have been using this for around 6 months now. Before this I was using one of the 02 online contracts (at 25 quid a month {last payed in feb 05}) and before this another 02 online contract. So I have been with o2 for about 3 years. I am wondering if this some how enables me to get a decent deal like you guys have been doing through upgrading/redemption?
I fear this will not be possible, so.. what do you guys suggest I do? I want a contract with a decent amount of txts and less minutes and wanna stick with o2. The problem is buying a contract new is quite expensive (30 quid a month) considering wot u guys are getting...
Anyways, any help appreciated!

M8cky,
Cheers for all the info, thanks to all this I have just got the usual
400 texts - 500 anytimexnetwork mins - FOC K750i = £15/mo.
I was wondering though, I could do with the extra 100 texts and a bluetooth headset would be brilliant too. I have enquired about these twice now and the headset has been met with:
"We don't do accessories from in the upgrades dept"
to which I told them of a friend (true) who got one from there, so they reply:
"well I'm afraid as your new tariff is so good we canNOT give you it" even after conferring with a manager.
Much the same is said about the texts, mainly that "we cannot add any more to the Discount 500"
So, how do you think I should go about wangling this? I was thinking about mentioning your story as you are a customer who was given all this so surely they could do it?!
What tone should I take? Is it possible? Did you persist?
Cheers,

I got my w800 yesterday got the deal online 200 for £15pm but rang up and said three just rang me again and offered me 500 minute n 400 text for £15pm the lad on the phone said he would change it over the next bill date, so i got w800i for FOC and 500 minute and 400 text for £15pm. My m8 is only paying 40p a month lol they must have added too much discount lol for online 200.

Just a question about the "Discount 500" tarif.
If I bribe them to give it to me, will I be charged for GPRS and MMS's?, will I be able to view my bill online too?
I'm on Online 50 and GPRS is free and MMS's are included in the TXT bundle

Hey all
I'm currently on Pay as you Go with virgin.
I previously had 2 contracts with O2 at the same time (mine and the wifes in my name).
I really want a XDAIIi or the equivalent QTek 2020i but I don't want to pay tons for it or have a huge monthy bill.
The best I've seen so far is O2 250 + 100 txts (£35 a month) with the QTek 2020i for £19.99.
Anyone know if I can get this kinda setup cheaper elsewhere...or is this a good deal?
Also, can you still downgrad your tarriff after 3 months or have the networks stopped this now?
Cheers
