@vein: I reckon the P990i is a great device in its own right. But its certainly not good enough for me to drop my all-conquering 9500 for.

Yeah, 9500 rules all, except it's size!!! 9300i is out soon anyway, anthracite colour with WiFi, looks great
You reckon sending my 9000i to Nokia Service Centre HQ could enable them to do something ?

@vein: The 9500's size is part of the reason why its "all-conquering" for me. I have large fingers and using the 9300 keyboard would be torturous for me.
Yes; you might try the HQ. Someone in there is bound to be able to help. Or at least point you to where you can find help.

Latest news - Documents To Go for Nokia 9500/9300:
"Documents To Go for Series 80 by DataViz provides owners of Nokia 9300 and Nokia 9500 Communicator with the ability to open, view and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files. DataViz' unique InTact Technology ensures complete original document integrity is maintained when Microsoft Office files are edited by users on the Communicator. This is especially vital when desktop documents containing complex formatting and layouts are edited in a mobile environment. By making sure that formatting associated with these files are always kept to their original form, users can confidently edit files on their smartphone without fear of negatively altering their files in the process." Culled from My-Symbian.
I am downloading it now and if all goes well, I'll pay and keep it.

9300i sounds really good, but id still stick with my 9500,i know its quite alot bigger, but i actually prefer it like that, bigger screen, better keys. And not that i use it an awful lot- its got a camera, which can come in handy.

Yup! Same here. Larger keys and screen have my vote any day. But of course not significantly larger than what's on the 9500 already!!!

I hardly need to play videos on my unit. As such Ii have never bothered to find out about software for that. Have you had a look at My-Symbian?

Okay peeps, earlier on this thread, some of us posted screenshots of different skins we implemented on our 9500s by tweaking a few things. There were those who wished they could skin their commies too but had not the nerves or tech know-how to do it.
Here's great news! Go download and install SkinInstall from My-Symbian, then load any of those skins (just Google to find free skins for the 9500) and use it on your device. Now, you dont have to "take apart" your Commie to customize the looks. Being brick certainly gets hippier by the day.

You can also find free skins to download from the My-Symbian forums. There's a thread dedicated to skinning the 9500 there. At the moment, I have about 7 or 8 skins on my phone. After trying them all, I finally settled for PS80, a very light and pleasant-looking skin. Screenshots coming up....
