hello guys,
This is first time I'm trying to setup both my PC and Handset to connect to internet thro Hutch GPRS (Rs. 99 package, bangalore)
I'm using Nokia 6800 Handset. I've installed Nokia 6800 Modem driver (http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,5184,6017,00.html; not sure whether is the correct one, how to verify that the modem driver is installed successfully?) and also PC suite for the same.
I would like to know what all setting I've to do so I can connect to internet.
Thanks in adv. |

As the starter of this thread .. Id like to throw my 2 cents in.. Yes the 99Rs package can be used to connect to Internet using PC it is unreliable and miserably slow (<2K speed at all times) . Its just not worth the effort to sit and gaze at your monitor wating for the page to load up..
I moved to Airtel Mobile office 600 Rs package recently and the speed is comparable to that of a dial up. There is no down time and you can use it on roaming as well with absolutely no extra charge.. Lemme tell you a secret . i pay only 99 Rs for this Mobile office package now bcos now Airtel has a Corporate offer for my company.
So guys this Internet on PC using GPRS is very much possible but dont expect any thing more than 7-8 K speed on your non EDGE GSM device.

Ok let me tell you that hutch Rs 99 GPRS doesnt work in delhi now, It gives error like "You are not authorised to view this page" the forbidden page. I dont know about other cities
Neither does yahoo messenger works!
Still i manage to use it , the sites open normally for me as they used to do earlier!
you can mail me to get a solution for this.

ok if i share with u ppl, wat benefit will i avail?
Only by popularising trick, i would encourage hutch to disable this method also!
I dont wanna loose this one!
I would respond to select mails only. |
