Ah, great.
Yes I have ImageConverter 2 & what a great app it is.
Does this patch make the entire thing English as I have one which is partly English but the rest is a lot of question marks!

The PSP have region coding built-in for Games & UMD Movies but at this time Sony have stated that Games will not be region coded. This was a lot of concern at launch because early copies of Ridge Racers (mine included) had a Region 2 graphic on the packaging but has been dropped on latter runs.
Doesn't mean they might not introduce it in the future if they have reason.
The standby mode has virtually no affect on battery life (according to battery meter & a trial IGN did). I can leave mine on standby at say 45% then use again in a couple of days & it still says 45%. Memory must be maintained with a low power overhead when in standby mode.
Regarding movie conversion, I use the Jap freeware programme which I read somewhere produces better results than the Sony software. I convert my movies at 1500kbps & 128kbs audio. Does the official converter go that high?

Just tried the patch for ImageConverter & unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a 100% translation, there are still considerable sections that cannot be read
@ psikey
Do u mean "3gp Converter"? I tried that & it simply failed to convert EVERY video I tried so I got rid.
The Sony IC 2 seems to have top quality of 768kbps so no it doesn't got that high but this level produces files of nearly 8MB/min!! Logically 1500kbps will make them 15-16MB/min!!
Thats nearly 2GB for a 2hr movie!!!

As an example Underworld converts to 671.01MB which fits fine on my 1GB DUO & quality is awesome. I am also OK with the 768kbps setting.
Day After Tomorrow converts to 697,319KB.
I also had initial problems but found I needed to install the latest free version of QuickTime player (not just the one that works within IE) & it works fine everytime.
Just Rip a movie to HD using DVDShrink to creat a single VOB file then just drop the VOB onto the software window and away it goes.
Converted Underworld 3 times at the 3 best settings just to see:
QB4 (a variable bit rate with 64kbps sound) - 307,208KB
768kbps/128kbps audio - 593,484KB
1500kbps/128kbps audio - 671,101KB
All at 30fps
I also expected it to be nearly double size from 768 to 1500 but must not be that simple!

@ MonsterOfArt
Lots! Right click any video & its not, choose MP4 settings & only the numbers can be read, none of the options across the top bar can be read etc etc
Have u had more success?
@ psikey
Interesting. So is there a noticeable difference in quality between 768 & 1500?

I think so but 768kbps is pretty good also so not much difference.
Worth having another go with the Jap software to see if there is a difference (I don't have the Sony software to test). |

I'm happy with the 3gp Converter. I'll wait now until official UK PSP Converter software comes out which hopefully will convert Movies/Images/Music all in the one package! |

Have any Mac owners here tried iPSP for creating PSP movies, syncing iTunes and iPhoto etc?
Just curious as to how well it works. It sounds great!
