Surely the phone will indicate R2AE in the software info section? I checked my wifes R2AA phone, and it shows R2AA. Those with R2AE should indicate so.
Just curious, why will this only play on a R2AE phone? |

Mine is one of those R2AE phones that does not have the multi character phone book search option and I just tried sending the audio file to my phone, and it's able to play.
One change I noticed in this new firmware. While in standby mode, when the screen is off, one press on the up/down buttons at the side of the phone shows the time but the lights are still off. A second press will turn on the lights.
still wondering which "version" of R2AE we're having in this region.... |

SE added support for the m4a format in R2AE, no other firmware version will play that music type. I guess SE realise how popular iTunes is on both Mac and PC.
Ok, here is a list of the k700 firmware files and the language files.
Anyone who knows for a fact which one they have and does not have phone book search please say so I can compile a list of which firmware has it and which doesn't.
This should help other members who are having difficulty. |

@DCUK--This is simply wrong.
I've been playing .M4A on my phone since I got it. I've got an entire White Stripes album on my phone in mp4 format as I type. Your file plays on my phone (R2L) as well.
MP4s will _not_ work as ringtones on my phone though. Maybe that's the source of the confusion? |

I think he means it can play m4a without having to rename the file extension to mp4, or am i confused :-D

Files with the .m4a extension play on my phone. Always have, as far as I know. Am I the only one? |

@ Grimslade
As far as I was aware you needed R2AE to play m4a but maybe not. I realise that the phone has always had mp4 support. Oh well, must find another distinguishing feature for R2AE.
This thing about R2AE without the phone book search feature has baffled me though!
Can everyone with R2AE and no phone book search pm me their location so I can narrow down which firmware is affect by this (so far I think only ASIA firmware). |

Just update my K700i firmware from R2L to R2AE at SonyEricsson Service Centre in Ampcorp Mall, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. This is what I notice after the upgrade.
1. Faster respond in menu.
2. No more call answer delay.
3. Bluetooth connection with my headset HBH600 is much faster, it connect faster.
I do not know whether the previous version R2L play .m4a files or not, but now with R2AE it can play .m4a file.
About the phone book, there is no phone book search, no multicaracted search, press "C", the phone will ask "Delete these contact" |

well, i had notice that the 3.10 version of the camera shutter speed is faster. this happend when i was driving at 80km/h, 90km/h and 100km/h. i did snap some of the picture when i was driving at the above speed
by right i should get some blur picture when i moving in high speed. but i didn't. it gave me a pretty good resolution.
maybe u guys should try that. |
