I've just flashed my R2AA003 back to R2L001 with the files but I'm still being told by SE Update that my operator doesn't permit use of the service.

Oh bugger, I know what I've done. I accidentally used the R2L001 EU3 files instead of the EU1 files.
Can I just flash the EU1 Language and Customisation files by themselves or do I have to go through the whole procedure in the document (decustomize, then firmware+lang+cust)?
Thanks... |

I think you should do the whole firmware again to be sure or you could run into compatibility problems. There are subtle differences that could make the phone unusable. A credit only costs £8 so well worth it in my eyes. |

OK. Another thing - only English T9 is available now. If I successfully update via the SE update service after flashing your files will it restore the other T9 languages? |

You need the EMEA firmware which I will be able to host Wednesday night now that my web space is active. I have never tried to see if I have any other T9 languages in EU 1 firmware but I am sure it's the EMEA one that puts more T9 languages on. |

No, it seems to be a side effect of using the old method to decustomise with R2L001 - you only get English T9. It's mentioned in another thread on here. Even updating with SE update service doesn't give you more T9 languages.
Flashing with R2AA003 gives you all the T9 languages but, of course, you can't then use SE update service. You pays your money...

I can't believe this still ain't working for us O2 customers. Have emailed them but with no answers. Looks like we are going to have to go down the de-customize route with the t28 cable and multiserver etc. I have had enough of O2 of late what with this and the farce with my bill. They have cocked my bill up several times and when I signed up with them they were supposed to double my minutes for the first 6 months and that ain't happened despite phone calls to em. I will be moving to another provider at the end of my contract. Useless |

"I hope this answers your query"
did she even READ the question to start off with? typical o2. My company is moving from o2 to orange due to o2's absolutely useless support. I wont be far behind with my own phone by the looks of it. |

Have you tried the local CarPhoneWarehouse? Some of their stores are offical service centers? |
