@Aivar
Just as a matter of interest, how do you know which handsets are designed in which design centre?
I know the T610 was designed in Sweden but that's all I know. |

1) "If you are a Nokia user"
Then go sit and bitch about the k700 on the Nokia forums.
2) "you'll not like the ugly keypad design and the overall techy look"
Who are you to say what I will like? This is your opinion.
3) "If you're fond of quality"
While I agree about the dust in the camera (though this is hardly major problem), there is nothing wrong with the quality of my K700. Dont know why your quickshare sticker keeps coming off but mine (and I suspect most people's on here) dont, so maybe this is an issue with YOUR K700?
4) "If you're a Samsung user, you we'll be disappointed by the software glitches and problems"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! You are joking right? Anyone remember the option to 'Ring and Vibrate' at the same time on a Samsung phone that is selectable but NEVER works, from the old Samsungs right through to the new? How about the dozens of E700s that I have had returned to my store with software problems? Have I had any K700s back? Nope....
5) "you'll be disappointed by the ugly fat clock appearing as screensaver to save the battery life"
Key words here: TO SAVE BATTERY LIFE. I for one dont have a problem with it, and anyway, this is YOUR OPINION once again. Who are you to say others will be disappointed?
6) "you'll be very disappointed of the poor battery life"
Okay, I will be nice, and will conceed this one to you, though two days use is hardly 'poor', as most people I know charge their phone every night anyway.
7) "you'll be very disappointed by the white-purple backlighting"
OPINION OPINION OPINION!
8 ) "If you're an iPod user"
Not even going to bother with this one. Stupidest thing I have heard all day.
9) "If you're a Sony Cybershot user"
No, I take it back, we have a winner for dumbest thing ever posted.
10) "If you're a Smartphone user"
You are kidding right? IS THE K700 A SMARTPHONE? No. Idiot.

I think at the time the K700 was released it was the best overall phone on the market in terms of size, function and features!!!!

che_blr, mate I agree with everything you said. Couldn't have said it better.
Silex says "5-6 songs" - WHAT? I used aac compression and had at any one time 20 songs on there. Plus heaps of room for photos. Phone audio at the time wasn't good enough in any phone to worry about high bitrate MP3 files.
I looked for expandable memory, but the only other phones out when the K700 came out that had exandable memory were smartphones that were highly compromised in terms of features (no where near as comprehensive as the K700), or simply WAY too expensive if they did have all the features.
786KBR, you are absolutely correct. When I bought the K700, about a 2 weeks after it's release, THERE WAS NO OTHER phone on the market as good that had such a broad range of features in such a small form factor. Some had some of the same stuff, but none had it all. For it's time; bluetooth, usb, rs232, infrared, excellent onboard memory, aac support, vga camera, light (better than nothing aka nokia of the time) GREAT screen, video recording, 3D java, xhtml browser, and on and on, all in one small candybar pakage.
I also wanted a smartphone with expandable memory at the time, but found that I would have to compromise so badly on all other fronts that the K700 was the only phone on the market that satisfied me. I researched for a month so I new what was available. Because it had decent onboard memory and good features, I was able to put smartphone/expandable memory desire on hold. I used it as mp3 (aka AAC) player, camera (1700 photos), surfing the internet, and oh yeah, as a phone.
I NEVER regreted buying it, not for a second, despite it's very few flaws (joystick not the greatest, menu a bit slow, radial blurring in photos; those my only beefs for over 1 year of ownership. Yeah I lost my quickshare sticker but who freakin' cares). The phone never crashed, the bluetooth connection was impeccable, the ergonomics the best of any phone I've used (bar K750).
Now, I have the K750, and again, I had to put smartphone desire on hold, because there still isn't a smartphone that satisfies my basic phone/convergence needs as well as SE do in a basic handset like the K750....

Also the K700 still has the highest resolution screen, even when browsing the net than most of the top end phones available now!!! |

@786KBR: The screen is possibly one of the best features of the K700...it's direct competition the 6230 doesn't come close in this regard.

in some respects, despite having less colours, it is even better than the K750 (brighter and clearer in sunlight) |

Congratulations to @Silex. I've long wondered whether there should be a section in Esato called "Posts The Average Esatonian Will Love To Hate." I nominate his post as a prototype.
Supposing I took his post seriously (I don't), my only reply would be to quote my good friend @dr_thug when he said that the K700i has given him so much happiness. Amen. |

You forgot to mention that the K700 is obsolete...
When it came out it was good (I didn't say perfect on purpose). But better phones came out since that. One of the most impressive in my opinion, except for the color, is the W800. Keypad is T610-like and battery lasts a whole lot...
Ah... Camera is 2mpx and a good one too.
Eh eh
