lo all
Not had any problems so far, except i tried to play a video file that the k700 didnt like and it rebooted itself. This is my only problem so far (so good) :S
Great little phone
P.S. About the battery life, this is a bug in the battery meter, it shows red (empty) long before it really is. People have commented that when the meter reads empty they have still got another day out of the phone under normal use.
SE to fix in future firmware i hope

Batterylife is 2-3 days - with normal use.
Could last more if only used for calls.
Which I think is ok for this type of phone.
Considering how many times I turn on the screen just to look at it or how much I play with the phone, switch themes, take pictures, look at pictures, listen to mp3 etc. - I can live with having to recharge every 48hour. |

yeah every 48 hours is cool, from what i read on other forums the battery was reading empty after only 6-8 hpurs of use :S
I have had mine for a week and at first was only getting a day out of it (using it lots) not i get about 48 hours with average use |

well, then we can state that the battery is better than nokia 6230's. |

thfcpoole is not the only one with the contacts bug - i reported the same thing in the first k700 thread a few days ago...one number from random contacts just disapears.

Still, it does not seem to be a common bug. Can it have something to do with certain sim cards or perhaps content of them ? Have you tried with another sim card (perhaps borrow from a friend) ?
A long shot perhaps. But you never know.

I have the same bug here.. and i have a one year old vodaphone sim..
Many random contacts have lost their numbers..
hehe strange bug indeed
dunno if im going to get it replaced or wait for a firmware update.. it should come soon because it is alot of issues now for SE to fix..

Donīt worry about that. Next 4-5 times try do discharge the most, and let all night charging in order to all battery cells become 100% active and ok. After that donīt worry a lot: try to charge when K700i stays some time with 0% battery indicator and the red light blinking and time to time leave him until it goes off.

yeah what he said.. and i also got this from a guy that knows alot of mobilephones and battery's
"The first few charge rule isn't about "memory effect" anyway - it is to ensure that all the cells get properly initialised as they won't all get charged properly within the normal 2 hour charge cycle. The trickle charge for the extra couple of hours ensures that all the cells do get fully charged and significantly improves the subsequent performance of the battery."

Secondly when I put it on charge through the night the screen stayed illuminated through the night which is rather bright, I seem to remember that on my T610 it faded to black after 2 mins...

Ya it appears to be a bug. To fix this, settings->display->light and change it from power save to automatic. Now the lights will fade off during the charging. This also enables the clock screen saver. For me I was just seeing a turned off screen (phone looked off) until I changed this setting |

My issue is that I cannot customise the anwerphone number (no voicemail settings option as indicated in manual), and it seems to, by default, hide the ID so it means that when calling your answerphone via shortcuts, it acts like you're accessing it from a land line. |

To change or set voicemailnr. :
1. goto menu
2. Select Messaging
3. Select Settings
4. Select Voicemail number
5. Enter Voicemail number and press OK
Go back to standby screen
press and hold no.1 button to call voicemail
works just fine on my phone

1. Message alert
2. Text message
3. Picture msg
4. Push
Yet another strange anomaly |

RE: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=62066
I don't think you're fair to assume that anyone is not looking carefully enough for anything on these phones right now - there are obviously huge varitaions between different peoples K700's.
BTW. The phone resetting itself after a Bluetooth GPRS connection is terminated has been confirmed to me as a bug by SE in all K700's so far released!

sorry if I sounded blund - definately wasnt my intend, but it doesnt help posting the same question in several threads + creating a new one on the same question - we allready have one k700 problem thread, no need to start a new one everytime someone finds a new problem on the phone, and Im not assuming anything - only wondering why theres such a difference between phones. My firmware is also R2A041 - just strikes me as odd that the menus differs from one phone to another with the same firmwarerelease number. Also really annoyes me when people post silly things as a K700 problem, like things branded by operators, its not a k700 problem that someone has a different logo cause of operator branding. Annoyes me to read someone post a list with 10 K700 problems where only 2 things on the list has to do with the phone and 8 has to do with the operator chosen or other personal dislikings. Like Its not a k700 problem/bug that sms alerts are not customizable, or voicerecording are to short etc. etc. its a design of the phone, if someone dont like this thats fine with me - but it should not be posted as a problem/bug in this thread. Would be much easier to get an overview of the bugs if people would stick to posting actual phone problems/bugs in this particular thread, and would then be much easier to make a real bug report to S//E listing the actual bugs - we could then make another thread listing the dislikings or the things we would have liked to see different but are not actual bugs.
Guess the firmware number itself does not say all and it could be interesting to see from where the phones with the most bugs are from - there are some more numbers we could compare.
