OSPS do state on there site that they will make you pay heavily for tariff dowgrading before 4 month of contract.

@ariddell, You havn't saved a penny untill you actually GET the phones successfully at that price.
Also i read on this thread that someone had a "Commision" fee charged to their card over & above the advertised price of the handset, these guys really do seem like a bunch of crooks.
Reminder; milk, sugar, crisps, post letter.

I don't can't bear much more of this! I haven't called them since this morning because I know that I'll just get fed a bunch of sh*te.

THIS THREAD HAS MADE ME THINK - Why be greedy? I should cancel my OSPS order tomorrow and bundle down CPW and see what happens.

I don't mind paying extra for some SERVICE!

Ref - Order No Bla bla bla

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please can you shed some light on the subject as to when I will be receiving my Sony Ericsson P900? Firstly, I ordered this handset back on the 11th November, since then I have made numerous calls to your Sales and Customer Service Departments. To this date I have spoken to too many people with too little clarification. Every other day I am advised that you will be receiving these handsets that evening, to my surprise I am still waiting. I was even transferred to a supervisor at one point, who put me on hold, returning 10 seconds later advising “ Yes Mr. Bla bla bla I can guarantee that we are receiving 25 handsets this evening and you will receive one of them”. I am now aware that there are over 200 on back order and each and every one of those customers have had their cards debited with the price of the handset (including me!) Is that not illegal?

I would also like to inform you that there is a forum within a dedicated website on the internet, link provided below. There is a thread within this forum that is dedicated to “One Stop Phone Shop”. I would like you to have a read of some of your other customer comments and the service they have been provided with. This thread has been viewed over 3800 times and has had over 140 replies. Could you pass this onto one of your Managing Directors and let me know what they think as this cannot be good for the profile of your company.

Would you give an opinion on why you are not advising your customers at the point of sale of a so called scheme called “Talk me through it”. I believe this is an additional scheme that costs £7 per quarter? Why are you not passing customers direct debit details onto Orange, I have also been informed that some of your customers have had to set this service up themselves?

I am forwarding this email to Oftel and Watchdog, as well as Orange to point out the disgusting service I have received. I have been a loyal Vodafone customer now for four years and decided to switch due to a more tailored package. I am disappointed with the lack of service I have received from “One Stop Phone Shop” and the constant excuses I have been told by your telephone operators. Why can’t you just be honest and straight with people?

Please can you clarify a few points for me?
• Why do you debit customer accounts in advance without dispatching goods?
• When will you be receiving a delivery of Sony Ericsson P900's?
• Currently what place am I within the queue for all back orders?
• Also why do you not advise the customer fully of extra charges within sign up i.e. Talk me through it
• Why do you not pass my details/third party details to Orange for billing purposes?
• Why does your call centre staff mislead customers into signing up?

I am looking forward to a prompt response.

Kind regards

MR Bla bla bla

Has anyone spoken to any of the contacts from Orange to see if it is them causing the holdups not sending out p900's to OSPS? Or had any feedback from them as to if they have had other problems with dealing with these guys?

A very quick responce from OSPS

Hope this clarifies a few things for you all.......

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Dear Bla bla bla,

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

The first point to clarify is when it comes to Orange handsets, we are completely in the hands of the network as to its availability. The Sony-Ericsson P900 was due for launch at the end of October. Unfortunately, the launch was delayed due to quality issues.

These problems have continued and to date we have received a very small number, compared to the amount we require. We are in contact with Orange daily, and as one of their largest dealers, we always receive the largest allocations when the handset becomes available.

Below are answers to the questions raised in your email:

Why do you debit customer accounts in advance without dispatching goods? To ensure we hold valid orders. For instance if we took 500 orders for the P900, 200 of those may have some sort of discrepancy with them, either address, credit card details etc. This would result in a delay for genuine customers.

When will you be receiving a delivery of Sony Ericsson P900's?
This is impossible to answer. As detailed above we are governed by Orange. The latest information is there are a batch in testing and as long as they pass, there will be an allocation next week.

Currently what place am I within the queue for all back orders? You are currently around 50th in our list

Also why do you not advise the customer fully of extra charges within sign up i.e. Talk me through it You should be informed of all additional extras being added to your account. Details are also sent to you from the third party companies, explaining the service and giving you details on how to cancel. TMTI is free for 3 months and you can obviously cancel at any time

Why do you not pass my details/third party details to Orange for billing purposes? You details are passed onto networks in order to perform a credit check and for billing purposes. However, if there are any discrepancies Orange will delete the details

Why does your call centre staff mislead customers into signing up? They do not. They are acting on the latest information, which by definition can change

We are one of the largest mail order mobile phone companies in the UK and have been operating for over 8 years. We are direct with all networks, a status you do not achieve unless you offer a quality service. Unfortunately there are areas which are out of our direct control which result in us not receiving the volume of handsets we require. However, we work tirelessly to obtain as many handsets as possible and as soon as we receive them they are shipped out as soon as possible.

I hope this clarifies the situation

Regards

Just seen this on the dvdforums;

Posted by HappySacs on 27-11-2003 09:28

Ordered two Nokia 6600's on a £50 per month tarrif from One Stop Phone Shop. Was told delivery would be last week. Chasing up the order on Monday was told they were only released on the 24th and likely to be mid-end of week. Calling today have now been told after christmas.

Cancelled the order, was asked if I'd like to order another handset - "No, and certainly not from you. Seems your company give misleading delivery dates and cannot keep your customers informed of delays. kthnxbye*".

Useless bloody company unless you know they have the phones ready in stock I'd guess.

So it's not just P900's they are mucking people about with!

I am sorry at the grief some of you guys here are going through getting the P900 as it's a really good phone. This company seems to be getting a bad reputation very quickly and I am sure it's not just members on this forum getting messed around by them.

I got my phone free at CPW last friday although it was on a very expensive contract. However, I will be changing my traiff to a lower priced one next month, as the CPW/Orange terms and conditions do not state you have to be on a certain tarifff for x number of months. orange custoer services were quite happy to chnage my tariff at my next billing period. maybe you guys should consider cancelling your orders with OSPS and buy from somewhere else?
