@leks - Hi matey . . . . . . . I just got mine ! (Ericsson T39mc this evening, about 2 hours ago, from a potential seller here in Manila, just sold it to me at US$ 37.00 - really cheap ! Complete with box/cd/manuals and all that) . . . Though since I am a very 'meticulous' guy, I will have the back and front covers changed - original Ericsson accessories at that, so it will really look like brand new!

Here are some pics:

1. Beside my ever reliable old Ericsson - T10:

2. Ericsson - T39mc:

My guess project I guess will be acquiring the 'vintage' Ericsson T28 fone model !

Hmm.. no offence, but i think the stubby antenna ruins the looks of the T39! Looks like a rottweiler or something..

@JN
I was referring to Leksīs 'after' picture of the T39m
IMO it looks so much better with the grey original antenna..

@threex - Yup! i guess it would just be not necessary to have that thing attached to it's original antenna, what is it for anyway, booster? Looks like a piece of 'boots' to me pal, the one which you wear on your feet!

Wonderful change! Pics are so sharp that I see that the signal bars are the same! Looks much more modern. The long antenna looks a bit antique. I cannot use the the long antenna any more. I found that GPRS is more efficient with the short Finnish aerial. Keep the T39 special edition for ever as I shall do. Let us others envy us!

The short aerial has better reception? So its better quality then the original? Dont think its stronger, the rec apart in it is bigger, or?

The difference between these types of antennas are minimal but the shorter one is maybe even better when using GPRS. The genuine one is maybe better in 1900 MHz of Mexico.
