Getting a Nokia 6600 is good enough, but getting a SE P800 is the unbeatable handset out there. With all the greatest features and lots of thirdparty software to add in. All i can say...Awesome. |

Hi guys,
My T610 has stayed up for more than 2 days now without actually falling "asleep". So I guess it was MAXIS that was causing all the problems. I was told that they have lots of problems last week after the flood.
Anyway, I just found out that if u use GPRS, it actually costs RM 15 for 1MB of data thats uploaded and downloaded. That's so expensive! I don't think I'll use my GPRS to download wallpapers anymore. Good thing I have 1MB free from MAXIS.
Oh..I get a chance to play with the Sagem MyX-6 today. U guys were right. The phone felt cheezy. The ringing tones are as spastic as the MyX-5 which I had for a week before switching to the T68i. |

markng...yes, maxis's gprs is expensive. I heard DiGi is the cheapest, but I don't want to change to DiGi coz I already have so many rebates from maxis...loyal customer thingy.
sahmun...i think Nokia 6220 which is scheduled to be released in 3rd quarter which is just 2 weeks away, would be more of a competitor to the T610. That nokia model you mention is half a year away, at least. |

Okay, now 'dead phone' is just a network problem. Other than hissing, anything else that I should check before paying? 19th of May, 2003 - A day when I will be getting it, *hopefully*. I will go to EricServe first, then Sg. Wang, any other places that I can hunt for a 3w23 T610 (must be below 1.6K cash)?? |

maxis GPRS charge RM0.20 per kilobyte. 1MB is about 1024 kb. so if u download or upload 1MB. u will need to pay RM200+.
DIGI charge RM0.012 per kb.
check thier web site for more details charges.
anyone of u wanna use MMS. please go ericserv for configuration. they charge for configuration

fulat : I think the rates that u stated for Maxis is wrong. The rate is actually RM0.0015 kb as stated here : http://www.maxis.net.my/?ch=2&pg=4&ac=22
Psycho : My unit behaves as it should be now. No more sleeping so I can pretty much confirm that my previous problems were caused my MAXIS. Actually my only complain now is that the menu's are kinda slow. As for the ringtones, I've given up downloading new ones. I use DIGIRAIN which is the best I think. |

Psycho : I went Sg Wang today, saw the volcano red and the blue one. Price? Same for all colours, cheapest I asked is RM1750. Too high for me, so didn't get one.
metal : Where is this BB? I would like to get one below RM1600. |

Hi guys,
I was reading some post on this forum and some guy was mentioning about testing for hiss using the Microphone option in Service Test options.
Can those with a W23 unit try it out? When you're in an absolutely quite environment, do u hear anything at all or u hear a constant hum/hiss/sound or what ever u called it. Mine has a constant hum to it. If the W23 units is absolutely quiet, then I have a stronger argument to get mine replaced.
Thanks guys! |

Interesting thread. FYI for every1, there are three service centres for SE: ACCS in Subang, EricServe in PJ, Maxicom Network in Cheras. ACCS is the best one with fast service and proper answers!!
The T610 I had is a special set (with zoom features) for testing purposes and didnt have the kind of problems like hissin and other anomalies but WAP was plain murder, darn thing crashed the whole phone. BT is pretty good on the T610 but there's no light indicators anymore and the lag on WAP is unbearable. The new firmware should be out very SOON and fixes a lot of stuff (much like the P800) and u can be sure SE will be supporting this phone to the max. SE phones are really excellent as the upgrades are FREE compared to Nokia Series 40 phones like the 7250, 7210 or Samsung Free i. None of them have the kind of inter-operatibility like sending pics to PDAs and other connectivity stuff.
The MY X-6 is ugly, true. The material is also bad. But the phone is really awesome when it comes to power and display. The built in image editor and incredible camera (no phone in Msian market can compare) doesnt only look good on the phone's TFT display but when transferred to other phones like da P800, really shames the Big Guns. The pics are rendered on the fly WITHIN the phone. Ringtones are WAV format so they sound like a 40's radioset. The set is very stable compared to the T610.
The Siemens SL55 is out but despite the 4096 colours it still looks like a 256 color screen. Nice design!! but that's about it..
T-Choice is perhaps the MAIN distributor for all SE phones. Heard Southall got the boot!! Serves them right, Southall is really crap for not promoting SE phones enuff.
Maxis is an overrated service provider. With triple the costs on voice, GPRS and WAP services, bad interconnecting lines with other providers, bad bandwidth (why do u think they bought Timecel?), analog band (were they kiddin when they had that ad about how Clear their calls were?), and misleading ads: satellite potrayal (as if they are running on a sat networks, making calls in mountains (yeah right, cant even make calls near Ukay perdana), clear sounds (lie, EFR or Triple rates dont make calls as the person next to you can, unless you have a stereo headset plugged in, even then it aint true stereo!!!), making booking using easy access (dead slow!!, plus you'll get charged for every request!!). Worse, still they always LAST to give good features like IARS (require huge deposit), GPRS (DEAD expensive), bad Hotlink services(pay for customer service), and EasyAccess (bullshit content and expensive too).
