Watching too many movies ?
The US will need 6 million more barrels a day of oil if it is to keep up with the demand.. Wher is it going to get it from?
Iraq has the worlds 2nd largest oil reserves...hmm...
Saddam has been deceiving the world for 12 years.. Y now attack? Surely a few more months of Diplomacy (Which is wat MOSt countries wanted) would have been better...
As for protests in neighbouring countries, in Gulf states such as Saudi, defying the Gov't in public is Unthought of. Its almost a crime, other states like Bahrain, Qatar, the gov't is mostly pro-US becoz of economic interests, so such events arent publicised or they are banned altogether...
As for US policy on Hijackers, the ppl flying the planes never had ANY contact with ground control, so how would they know wat he wanted/
Surely u'd risk killing 100 passengers over the sea rather than allowing it to crash into a building killing 3000....
US evidence about the Iraq war has been laughed at by the french and many other countries on the Security council.. The US had to threaten some smaller countries about withdrawing financial aid if they voted against the US... But the french wer going to Veto, so it didnt matter in the end
The US promised to help re-build afghanistan.. but how much hav they put a side for Aid in this years budget ? $000000000
Whilst ISrael receives $5bn +
US is following a foreign policy, which demands that the US stays the one and only super-power in the world, so it can do as it pleases

The French are just playing the same old games they've always played. I understand German and French politicians vetoing the issue...because they want to be re-elected of course and most of their voters are against the war....that is....until it is over with and they also want to claim a piece of the pie. Chirac is just trying to save is relationship with Iraq and other middle eastern countries.
You got me laughing saying that US has not poured any money into Afghanistan. Last amount I heard was $1 billion and that goes pretty far in Afghanistan.
Of course US gives to much money to Israel....it is their greatest friend together with the UK. I'm not defending the spending but the US tax payers have the right to choose the recipient of their money and as far as I know there is nothing illegal about that. However, I think the US should be questioning some actions done by Israel.

Y dont U go n take a look at the US spending budget for this year.. $0 was given to Afghanistan... But u shudnt take my word for it.. Go to a gov't website, they mite have it..
The US ONLY gives money when it is in their interests, there is NO such thing as being 'friends' with a country, the US just has countries that benefit them...
Israel, Strong supporter in the Mid-East
UK, Strong supporter of US in EU..
Eastern EU countries, allow Us influence near Russia, stop Russia from growing
South Korea N Japan, Help by having US troops to keep China from growing stronger, using economical situations...
Again dont take my word
Take a look at WHERE US troops are based, and WHO the US fears most....

US troops are based in 146 countries so it is kind of har to pinpoint.

Do u actually think that the US wud hav US troops on foreign soil becoz they R friendly ??

I understand that a lot of countries feel as they are under occupation because of the US troop presence. I believe US presence in the Middle East is one cause of terrorism.
However, US troops also provide security to unstable regions. The hard part is to find a balance where US troops are only present where they are really needed.
A lot of people are against US role as world police. However, as a super-power they also have the "responsibility" to keep world peace as necessary. To some they might act like the "big dog on the block" but super-powers have always been struggling with that perception.

Just to clarify some info for you guys regarding US aid to Afghanistan and Iraq.
Since Sept 11, 2001 the US has provided nearly $900 million to Afghanistan.
US humanitarian relief to Iraq this year = $206 million.

Now that May B a looottt off money to all people, but considering the country had its ass blown off, literally, $900mn cant B that much, Afghanistan isnt exactly the size of Luxembourg, Now I kno the USA cant pay 4 EVERYTHING wrong in the world, but considering that the US did bomb Afghanistan, and it was America's war really, shudnt They pay 2 Afghanistan costs of the war?
Or dont they hav to appease ne1 becoz they supposedly freed the afghan people, gave them sum money and then left it to the rest of the countries to handle Peace keeping forces, and providing other services....

every night i went to bed
I thought about those poor iraqi People who have been threaten for more than two weeks..
Its really horrible feeling to sleep in a dark city with no electricity
no water
no saftey
And with the sounds of the missiles explosions and guns shots day and night
A lot of questions Iraqi people will think about…
What is their fault ??
Will they be alive next day ??
And if they are lucky to be alive …
Are they going to lose one of their family or one of their close friends life ??
Are they going to be homeless next day ???
Could someone stop this war ??
Or when this war will end??
A lot of questions in their mind they need to have answers for it …..
and the only thing they want and they wish is to :

Im sure No1 on earth wants a foreign foce risking Iraqi civilian lives to topple Saddam...

No WMD's have actually bin found. Nor has Saddam H. been found. The two 'main goals' when this war started have not yet bin achieved... Yet the oil is already sold????
I must be missin' something here, but you all godda admit that is fishy!
As for Iraqi's willing to risk their lives to topple Saddam......they tried that 10 years ago and they did die...Remember?? Now I don't blame 'em if they are not anxious to put themsleves out there...
1st wait and see if Saddam can indeed be captured or killed. |
