I've not a clue unfortunately. However this was copied from the threads opening page.
XR5: super flagship with 128GB internal storage and 6GB RAM will likely carry a "PRO" model name and will cost approx $950 USD.
One thing I do know is that concept image was nothing like what I seen.
Announcement @ MWC?
Can you describe what did you see? |

Question for Xperia Compact series users (others can share their opinion too)
Imagine next year Compact with ~80% STB ratio...
Which one would you choose:
Option 1:
4,6" screen and ~119x64mm body
(current XZ1C has 4,6" and 129x64cm = 70,7 STB)
Option 2:
5,0" and 129x68cm
(Xperia ZL has 5,0" and 131,6x69,3cm = 75,6 STB)
I am for option 1 and you? |

Option 2. Larger screen. Same body.

option 2 for me too. ZL was really comfortable in hand and pockets for me. Led light was awesome also... |

It is not that simple.
X has a 1/3.06" 13MP front camera. X Compact does not.
XZ1 has same front camera. XZ1c has a 1/4" 8MP.
No Compact so far has 64GB storage, we see it inside their bigger brothers.
It is complicated to get things inside the compact.
Sony moved the CPU way from the camera and battery shape is different now.
At least inside the Premium.
ZL has almost 76% screen/body. But we can say it is edge to edge like XA.
This increases the %. The XA1 Ultra has about 76%.
I would like to see this:
- XA 2018 : 5" screen , 13.8cm height
- XA Ultra 2018 : 6" screen , 15.8 cm height
- Compact 2018: 4.8" screen , 13 cm height
- Regular flagships : 5.3" screen, 14.1 cm height
- Premium 4K : 5.7" screen, 15cm height

best smartphone cameras you can buy now according to dpreview.
https://www.dpreview.com/arti[....]oundup-best-smartphone-cameras
Best display: Apple iPhone X
Pros: Excellent detail and dynamic range, natural bokeh mode, 4K video at 60 fps
Cons: Price, underexposure and red-eye with flash
Best for video: LG V30
Pros: Great video feature set and stabilization, super-wide-angle offers new framing options, excellent display
Cons: Poor detail on super-wide-angle, zoom quality, no bokeh mode
Best for zoom: Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Pros: Class-leading zoom, large display and stylus, good bokeh mode
Cons: Lower DR than some competitors, price
Best computational imaging device: Google Pixel 2
Pros: Class-leading detail and dynamic range, excellent hybrid video stabilization, "pure" Android operating system
Cons: Display issues on early units, lower zoom and bokeh performance than closest competitors
Best for black-and-white photography fans: Huawei Mate 10 Pro
Pros: Great detail in low light, monochrome mode, decent zoom and bokeh
Cons: What we don't like: Limited slow-motion video options
Huawei now join the best smartphone camera phone race. Next year I want to see Sony's name in this list.

Dpreview is related to DxO.
Every year someone says the LG V is best for videos just because of many controls.
Then you use, your opinion changes.
Sound recorded by V20 is awful.
Night videos of V30 are way noisier than XZP.

during these days, "pure" Android operating system is as bloated as Samsung phones. the only difference would be they are bloated with Google's apps, not Samsung. the worse part is they don't allow you to uninstall/disable some of the apps you don't need |

Doesn't matter if they are related to dxomark. They do their own test to back up their claim. Their reviews are usually the longest and most detailed review of any camera phone on the web.
Now that we are sure that Sony will bring a stunning looking phone in 2018 I hope they focus and invest heavily in computation photography because it is the future of photography.
Having class leading camera sensor/newer module/lens system will definitely help improving the image quality of next xperia but these alone will not help them catch upto the leader in mobile photography. Google pixel has smaller sensor and lower resolution than this year flagship phones yet they capture more details, have greater dynamic range and less noise in their photos. iPhone 8 has even smaller sensor, lower resolution and pixel size but it ( consistently) produce image that have better dynamic range, less noise and have greater details than xperia. Some times Xperia phone will take photos that will pop on iPhone photos but overall iPhone is better at taking better pics than Xperia flagships despite having inferior hardware.
My point is - Sony need to heavily invest in computation photography. I don't expect them to have google level software processing at least on par with Samsung/HTC. |

@HH
The old protocol the iphone 7 had 86 pts. Just like S6.
Now that they score Bokeh and Zoom the same iphone has 87 while S6 has 82 points.
Even if a new Xperia achieves high score of Noise, Artifacts, AF, Exposure the low score of ZoomBokeh will drop final score.
Most of phones use 28-30mm lenses. Sony has 25mm for flagships.
They only test auto mode, so they wont use the Background Defocus sub-app.
Also the zoom . Digital zoom is useless.
Old protocol, they used to take photos of same locations in Paris. You could compare phones.
Now they do not. And why not front cam? Selfies are much more used than bokeh.
I read their reviews . They are very complete, but it has been very weird lately. The difference between iphone X/ pixel 2 and iphone7+/pixel exists but is not that much like the score suggests.
Even Samsung got same photo subscore for 3 years. S6, S7 and S8 had 88, just different video score.
When you read XZP review, seems like it is Z1 level. I doubt.
If you read gsmarena tests, they say in many situations XZP was better than G6, S8 and U11.
About video, we all know Steady Shot is years ahead of OIS and any kind of EIS other may use.
Just 87 for stabilization? Previous Sony had 93 or 95.
Since LG V20 review, many readers have lost faith. Lower score than G4 and G5.
Then G6 scored 83 ( old protocol).
Motorola Moto G4+ has 84. A midrange of 2016.
BTW: H4133 just showed up. Benckmark and uaprof .. It is a 5.2" FHD / SD630/ 3GB ram / 32GB / 23MP + 8MP
