Come on, JB is nothin' special. Don't drive crazy... It's the same like ICS, just small things which you won't notice! And Ice-Cream-Sandwich sounds much better.

I completely disagree with you? You REALLY don't see nothing at a new notification bar, with expanded notifications? Or Project Butter, which makes the phone fly till the end? That to mention only 2 things.

My Brother use S3 LTE with JB and I compared it with my RAZR HD, we see no difference! And the battery with JB sucks, he had S3 standard before, with ICS and the batteryperformance was better than his new S3 with JB! 
BTW, we can't wait for 2013.

@puestadelsol - totally agree! Without Ericsson, Sony won't be able to do not even a single great phone, since they have the worst marketing strategy out of all manufactures. And I already see that, the 2012 Xperias are total crap - ruined the great 2011 UI, the phone's look, the cameras are the same, if not worse, the product support and marketing strategy is worse than ever ( 2011 Xperias are left in the dust, 2012 Xperias getting OS updates last ).
You just don't know how much I want to see Ericsson start making mobile phones again! They'll be the best for sure, as were their pre-2001 phones compared to Sony's crap back then.

The point is already made on their website, if you check out the comments. But its just not that much. I am utterly dissapointed and thanks to this news, I am just not getting xperia tx/v. I know that I will be treated like shit by them. 2013 mid q1 for a jb update!??! Thats 5 months.. Just in time for their next flagship lol.

Honestly, bug free ICS is good enough. I have better things to do than complain about "expandable notifications" or other minor gimmicks.

I'd like to see JB released for XS around Nov/Dec time as I always thought this was the planned release.
I really cannot understand how why it's taken Sony so long to update and push out JB. My only thought is that the admin/logistical mess of updating umpteen different devices to JB.
Surely Sony had the source codes back in July so I don't understand why it's going to take so long. I know Samsung are a larger company, but SGS3 JB update will soon start rolling out to the UK.
There is also the added issue of having to then wait for network approval and region approval, for example if you have a T or V, SE might release it on 31 Mar 13 but you then have to wait another 6 - 8 weeks to get the region version and network approval.
JB is only an incremental update and therefore the transition should be quicker.
Unfortunately this seems to be the way with Sony since the first Xperia's. If they want to compete with the larger manufacturers they are going to need to be up to date. Releasing the T and V with ICS seems like history repeating itself with the XS.
Google needs to start laying down rules or incentives with Android because fragmentation is not going away any time soon. |
